this week has been alright.. i've been chillaxin' a bit.. but i've also been doing a bunch of other stuff. one thing i haven't been doing is going to the gym. oops.. i just can't seem to get out of bed. :P it's so comfy. so yea.. that's that. monday i went with chris (who works with my sister) to go hand out fliers for the blt cast signing at borders. i actually ran into a few people from hs and some i haven't seen in a long long while. it was good. ucla is definitely a different atmosphere that ucsd is.. *sigh* i miss school. handing out fliers was okay.. just like handing out anything in mass quantities, if it's not free money or food, you get the run of people who are really excited, people who are just nice and take your fliers and throw it away when they're out of sight, and rude people who say crap like "oh.. i already met them" and "no!!" yea... those people are way too cool for us. chris and i made plenty of snide remarks. hahah.
today i had another interview (different place). i waited a long long time, and then finally had the interview, and the lady only asked me two questions... about my two previous jobs. that's it. she did tell me a little bit about what the position entails and some other details.. but only two questions?! i don't know if that's good or bad.. i guess we'll see huh. then i went to my sister's work and i started to learn final cut pro.. which is exciting.. i want to learn how to use that and avid.. and i'll be set :) i want to do everything.. haha. and then had hurry curry for dinner.. (yum) and cruised over with my sister and her friends to the blt signing at borders. we did a good job handing out fliers dammit.. haha there were a good amount of people there. not overwhelming.. but more than they expected i'm sure. freaking borders ran out of dvd's to sell to people!! like 15 minutes after the event had started.. i mean.. if you're going to have an event signing like this.. you should stock up. what butt munches. and then when they were doing the signing, they only let people who had dvd's go through first. which sucked because it's like. it's not their fault they don't have a dvd.. it's yours!! dumb borders in westwood. anyhoo.. afterwards we ate at bj's. mmm.. pizookie.
i'm thinking about maybe cruising down to sd for the film festival this weekend... i'm not too sure... i don't know who i'd hang out with just cuz everyone else has their group and i don't want to impose or be third wheel or odd man out or something. and where would i stay (because i am b-r-o-k-e) and stuff like that. but it's also kristen's birthday.. so we'll see i guess :)
as a kid, did you ever play by yourself and pretend to be multiple people? yeah.. me too.

matchstick men was actually really really good. it was really well done, and a little happy, a little scary, a little funny, a little sad, and had a twist that i didn't really see coming. i'm a little unsure about the ending, but it was good :) you should go see it! afterwards benji and i went to the kettle where i ate way more omelet than i should have even ordered.. blech.
today i just chilled, slept a lot. and after not going out with my sister and mom because i didn't feel like being in their company (more retarded tiffs) carrie picked me up and we went to disneyland.. yay! i STILL didn't get to see fantasmic.. but it's okay.. i wanted to wait for nicole, who was too busy painting her living room to hang out :P, we went on all the fun rides, and i got to go on the teacups! and i won a stuffed dolphin, which was a conversation starter with lots of boys.. hahah.. we'll have to carry that thing around when we go from now on. too bad the cute one had a gf.. stupid. :P jk. then i went to the kettle (again) with carrie. i still didn't get my island hula pie.. but it's okay. i have my dolphin "skippy" now.
here's a question that i need your advice on... what do you think i should do with my jobless self.. do you think i should go back and see if i can get a job at the gap? or should i hold out and try harder to get a "real" job. i mean.. yea.. money's money.. but pro/cons.. i would nifty discounts, but would probably spend more money than i make (hah) people were right when they said that you'd get kind of depressed when you don't have a job for awhile.. your self-worth .. blah blah blah.. and but doesn't it seem loserish for a college graduate to go back to the same job they had before they even went to college? i swear i'm smart, and a good worker... hire me.

i thought i would have more entries, but i guess i'm not as much of a blog-whore as i thought. sorry to dissapoint. i haven't been online a lot.. i don't know... i guess my dawson's creek dvd's are so much more alluring :P it's been an interesting week i suppose. i did some temp work and then i had an interview and a second one.. which could be good.. but not if i don't get the job i guess.. cross your fingers for me!! it's not the greatest job.. but it's at least a start somewhere. still kicking myself about that ad agency. dang it!!
i also started doing some stage managing stuff.. it's sort of volunteer.. cuz i'm getting like a stipend, but it's not a lot, a lot. so it's kind of "do it because you want to" it's pretty cool and it's funny. everyone should come see the play in oct/nov :)
ummm.. i had a secret play date on wednesday .. it was good because we both needed cheering up. i'm glad that we went to go play ... thanks secret friend.
thursday i watched the tivo at my sister's house.. it was great. i really do need to get one of those things. then beth and ryan and i carpooled it over to west covina for michael salamanca's early birthday celebration at bj's. *happy birthday!* it was good to see to see a lot of people again.. salamanca, billings, steph hsu and everyone else.. i ate WAY too much pizza and we laughed so hard at all our sillynesses. WOMAN!! and plus salamanca feeling up ryan's boobies the entire time. and i ate all of halgren's pizookie.. oops.. thanks stephanie!
friday i had my second interview.. blah.. and then helped my sister with some of her blt promo stuff. then i came back to torrance and left frantic messages for nicole so that she could pick me up for manny's 21 year old celebration (second remix) at buca. we showed up a little late, but it was okay because everyone was just sitting down.. i guess seats got mixed up a little. but it was funny.. it was like the manny's k-family friends table.. and it was a cams/nhs mix + nicole. hahah. it was really good to hang out with familiar faces (at least for me.. i was lucky enough to know everyone there).. so we decided what to eat, chatted it up, drank a few drinks, took shots with the birthday boy, stole beth's credit cards, hit on the cute waiter and wished manny happy birthday wishes. :) afterwards we drove down to the strand and went to a bar to dance it up. aside from the spending forever to find parking it was good times. manny was have a great time freaking everyone.. and smacking some asses.. after we were done being sweaty we trotted home. but it was a good good time... a lot of fun, good food, good friends and smiles. i'm glad i could celebrate manny's birthday with him :) *happy birthday!!*
today was rehearsal.. it was alright.. same 'ol same 'ol i guess. then i watched tv, saw the end of the alabama/arkansas game, watched some tv, watched some girly movies and hung out with my dad :) yay. now i'm being DRAGGED out by benji to go see matchstick men. haha.. i'm such a brat.

so i'm not really going to publish anything because i want as many people as possible to see the blt ad, not just for the signing - but to let know them know they should go buy it. so come oct 1st (whoa.. that sounds so far away.. but it's not!) i'm going to publish and everyone's (okay.. all 4.5 of you) are going to be like "where did all these posts come from?" so now you know. i just couldn't resist blogging because things happen.. and me being the nerd that i am, i think to myself how i'll word it so it sounds fun for my blogger. yea.. i'm a huge nerd.. just like when i hear a cool song i imaging what sequence in a movie or what montage of shots i would put to that song. haha. dumb.
anyhow.. it's been alright. friday night i went to a party with my old hs friends. yay class of 99!! it was interesting because i hadn't seen a lot of people or really kept in touch. through friendster and duane's funeral our paths crossed again and we had a "going away" party for jason who's going to argentina. neat. it was good to hang out and socialize and see everyone again.. it was a lot of fun.. so i hope we get to do it again :) or that i'm invited when it happens again. har har. there was really good food that luisa's family and nancy cooked.. and lots and lots and LOTS of alcohol.. i'm sure luisa's fridge is fully stocked now and a few drunk people here and there, but good times all around.
saturday i had my kaiser eye appointment and picked out new glasses, but i had a price limit from my insurance coverage (so it'd be free) so i tried to pick out the best looking ones that fit the price range. i hope they don't make me look too nerdy.. but i hardly wear them anyways. i joked about getting those really nerdy gawdy glasses with the weird rims, or the giant old lady glasses. i tried them on, and laughed so hard i almost fell over and knocked over this stand.. the people must have thought i was like 5 years old. but anyhoo.. laters went back to hollywood to go see annie play at the acoustic playhouse. a little bit of sadness, no one was there :( and annie was a little sad.. but we made up for it in ice cream and mud pie and the funniest waiter. :) but i'm glad i went because i almost staying home. then i watched my dawson's creek dvd's that i got off ebay!! yay.. i LOVE dawson's creek. it makes me a little sad because you watch it and you see ALL the signs that joey and DAWSON are MEANT to be together... but it's a fantabulous show. *sigh*
today i went to go look at wedding dresses for my sister.. the first i picked out we all really liked.. it was purtty. :) heheh.. i have great taste.. haha. it woud be funny if that was the dress she ended up getting. hehe. i rock. but we went to the mall afterwards and tried to find some possibilities for bridesmaid dresses... it's a difficult task. but we have some time. it's an adventure. ate some good homecooked food and jeff-gu came over and we all watched the emmys. tomorrow i have a "coffee date" with these people that i might be stage managing for. but it's not really a paid gig.. just a stipend.. which is cool... i don't mean to be all materialistic, but it's a bit far to be driving three times a week, especially when i have no other job and my mother harping down my back. so i hope it's a lot of fun, it sounds like it could be. :) we shall see.

so i was on tv today. hahahah. i went to the taping of cupid YAY!! with carol and sakura and we sat in the second row behind where lisa sat, and right behind her family. scary. but it was kind of cool. i sat next to one of her friends and she was pretty funny.
sakura and carol and i drove down there.. yay carpool lane! we got "vip" seats and watched the "host" do weird dancing contests and what not. there were so many friends and family of the people from the show. it's actually taped live, which was kind of exciting. and we got to know who won before everyone else (on the west coast). brian mcfayden is hotness personified. exclamation point. but he also pointed out his girlfriend sitting in the stands. how disgusting. but he was really really cute, and i like how he is quip. it's endearing. hahah. it was odd, i predicted in what order they were going to get kicked off and i was right. haha.. i'm telepathetic! but yea. it was really interesting to watch the on-goings in the studio, the stuff they don't show on camera. but i am a production geek, so i love stuff like that. it was cute to see hank wave to his family in the audience, it was cute to see hank look like the wind was knocked out of him, and so amazed, when lisa came on stage, cute to see him make eye contact with lisa, and mouth and signal to her that it was going to be okay, it was stupid to see renda make faces when hank was saying that he didn't really think it was a competition. i bet renda really hates hank, but renda is a loser... hahah.. "i'm like a rose bud who's petals are opening up more and more"? COME ON?! and in between commercial breaks everyone got up to talk to each other, the hair and make-up people came to freshen everyone up, wipe off the tons of sweat off hank and the other guys, give them water, and lisa would talk to her family. when robert was in the final two, i totally screamed, and lisa's family was so mad. hahah. they were scared that people out there (like nicole) had voted to keep robert in, and voted for her to marry him. this one girl next to me was like "how did this happen?! i voted for hank forty-nine times!!" hahah. crazy crazy, but i guess if you know her you want whats best, and that's hank :) i sat behind her grandma, which was so cute that she was there, and her brothers. man... her brother is frikkin tall, he's ginormous! and later i was grinning like an idiot the whole time i'm sure. as we were leaving evan was standing right in front of us with his friends ("e-money!!") and talking to dominic's parents ("you know there's a half-dozen girls at my work that want your number) and we just stood there blocked as he socialized. hahaha, carrie's mad because i didn't get his number for her. hahah. should have came your self and then you could have tripped and have him catch you. hahahah. it's okay.. we'll go to his volleyball games :P so, it was cool, way funner (and shorter) than all those other tv tapings that i've been too, and it's really exciting to work in production - i hope i get to do it some day. :) thanks sakura and carol for the good times :)

so the only problem with not working is that i turn into a lazy blob.. and that i am broke. i didn't go to work because my parents and i got into a fight about what i'm really doing with my life, and they wanted me to find a "real" job (my mother wants me to work for the school district and my dad wants me to work for the city.. surprise surprise) and that the wages i was getting was not worth the time and gas and commute.. blah blah blah. i easily could have said no, but i don't know why i'm not resisting. i want to get a "real" job, but i also just wish it would land in my lap (doesn't everyone?) why couldn't i have been one of those people where my internships turned into job offers.. was it just the circumstances or the places i worked (as i liked to tell myself) or was it me, that was i wasn't good enough, a hard worker enough. *sigh* i don't know... but this finding a job thing sucks. i'm up to my ears in cover letters, resumes and "requirements" it makes me feel like i shouldn't have even bothered going to college.. i should have just started gaining experience. or like.. i should have just stuck it out at irvine and then at least i could have worked in LA or something crazy like that. damn me for not getting into UCLA or something like that... there are so many things that i would like to do over.. but then again would i have turned out the same way if i had gone to UCLA? would i have enjoyed it as much? UCLA is way more different than UCSD... but i guess i'll never know eh?
so basically that's what i did today.. sent out some resumes, emails, blah blah blah. all very uninteresting stuff. and i'm sure you don't want to hear my sob story because yours might just be the same. or at least with a ton of other people out there fighting for jobs. boo. yesterday was okay.. i watched eric pack up his stuff and move down to san diego... all my nostalgia washed over me. i don't know quite what it is about san diego that i love, maybe it's because i spent the last four years there, that i had so much freedom, that i had such free times. i feel like i know it better, where to go, what do to, because i guess i had the freedom to just let loose and hang out. here i feel so lost and don't know what there is to do - oh except for the union.. which sucks like a vacuum - NEVER going there again. thanks nicole. but a lot of times i feel like i want to move back down there, even though most of my friends are in LA.. it's so weird. i want to go back and eat $1 tacos, go to PB and go bar hopping, go work at Fox Rox, watch san diego tv.. go to the friday's that's open until 2am. work at ucsd athletic games. argh!! i need to learn to let go of things more easily.
afterwards i did laundry, attempted to clean, watched my girly dvd's that i bought and later went out to dinner with joan and jeff and the 'rents at cpk.
i saw pete's new "project" for his website and i'm in it. i feel so special.. this is even better than when he puts me in his away messages! i'm such a lucky girl.
and at the request of sakura.. here's a "better" version about our outing wednesday:
so the story begins the same.. we head of to mccormick and schmick's for our ucsd alumni "social" or at least that's what it was supposed to be. sakura picks me and carol up and we head off to el segundo and sakura takes the "scenic route" and pulls multiple u-turns getting us there :P we go in, decide we need to go to the bathroom and dilly dally going out to the social because we don't know what to expect. we go out there and get greeted by the president of the alum assoc. who looks like he's still in college and that his suit is too big for him. his hair is slicked back in an attempt to make him look older, but it just makes it worse. we sit down at an empty table, and unknowingly we've cornered ourselves off. so we just sit and the waitress asks if we want cocktails. so i don't know if it was the cheap asian in me, or the broke in me, but i ordered water.. and the waitress says "evian or peligrino" that right there should have tipped me off, but it didn't.. and we all ordered the same as the waitress made a crack at us "oh... water drinkers!" shoot.. what if we were really religious, or allergic to barley.. what a jerk. so anyways... we get our water and not until it comes in three tall bottles of evian that we're like.. "umm.. oh" so we sit there and drink our water, joke about how it's probably $5 each, laugh about how it's a social and if anyone were to come up to us and ask what we do we'd reply "nothing.", we laughed about how no one wanted to talk to us, about how we probably looked like we crashed the wrong party, and about how hungry we were. the food finally came and we went to grab some appetizers. sakura didn't want to be rude and grabbed like two items (because the girl in front of her didn't get anything), whereas i just grabbed one thing off each plate (it was so dark i couldn't see what was what.. so i thought i'd just sort it out later at the table) and carol followed suit. later sakura told us that she was shocked to see how much food we'd gotten, but bummed out because she was hungry and the platters were all empty when she wanted to go back for seconds. her bad. so we sat there for a little while longer, watched people walk in, look around for a place to sit and sit everyone except for with us. we watched the president go around to each table and chit chat with them, except for our table. so we just sat and laughed at ourselves, and probably everyone else. we joked more about the president and sakura joked about how she was going to flirt with him "so i noticed that you were standing over there looking at me," we joked about how young he was and how anyone could be president - i'm going to be president and sakura's going to be treasurer and we're going to do korean bbq's. (hah) later when we decided that we were hungry we asked the waitress for a menu. for the next 45 minutes or so we watched her flirt with the table of guys next to us who probably thought they were the coolest guys there and trying to get the waitress to drink with them and not bring us a menu. then she brought us a bill and it was like $12 (FOR WATER??!!) when she really didn't give us a choice for free water.. she tricked us.. punk. but that was partly our own faults as well, but she really wasn't a waitress, at least not to us, and we didn't get our menu, and she was stupid and mean, so i said no tip for her. sakura and carol felt bad, but i was in a ruthless mood.. i really did not like her. and then i was thinking that i wanted dessert, so i asked for a dessert menu, and of course she said she'd bring it, and of course never did. she did bring the guys at the next table two rounds of drinks. and as we were leaving the president said goodbye to us as he was hitting on one of my friends all while his voice was cracking. (i hope he doesn't read this) so all in all afterwards we went to chili's where we spent more money of food, and none on water and had semi-slow service and got offered special discounts by the guy at blockbuster "if we were nice" hah.
there sakura.. are you happy now?
so basically that's what i did today.. sent out some resumes, emails, blah blah blah. all very uninteresting stuff. and i'm sure you don't want to hear my sob story because yours might just be the same. or at least with a ton of other people out there fighting for jobs. boo. yesterday was okay.. i watched eric pack up his stuff and move down to san diego... all my nostalgia washed over me. i don't know quite what it is about san diego that i love, maybe it's because i spent the last four years there, that i had so much freedom, that i had such free times. i feel like i know it better, where to go, what do to, because i guess i had the freedom to just let loose and hang out. here i feel so lost and don't know what there is to do - oh except for the union.. which sucks like a vacuum - NEVER going there again. thanks nicole. but a lot of times i feel like i want to move back down there, even though most of my friends are in LA.. it's so weird. i want to go back and eat $1 tacos, go to PB and go bar hopping, go work at Fox Rox, watch san diego tv.. go to the friday's that's open until 2am. work at ucsd athletic games. argh!! i need to learn to let go of things more easily.
afterwards i did laundry, attempted to clean, watched my girly dvd's that i bought and later went out to dinner with joan and jeff and the 'rents at cpk.
i saw pete's new "project" for his website and i'm in it. i feel so special.. this is even better than when he puts me in his away messages! i'm such a lucky girl.
and at the request of sakura.. here's a "better" version about our outing wednesday:
so the story begins the same.. we head of to mccormick and schmick's for our ucsd alumni "social" or at least that's what it was supposed to be. sakura picks me and carol up and we head off to el segundo and sakura takes the "scenic route" and pulls multiple u-turns getting us there :P we go in, decide we need to go to the bathroom and dilly dally going out to the social because we don't know what to expect. we go out there and get greeted by the president of the alum assoc. who looks like he's still in college and that his suit is too big for him. his hair is slicked back in an attempt to make him look older, but it just makes it worse. we sit down at an empty table, and unknowingly we've cornered ourselves off. so we just sit and the waitress asks if we want cocktails. so i don't know if it was the cheap asian in me, or the broke in me, but i ordered water.. and the waitress says "evian or peligrino" that right there should have tipped me off, but it didn't.. and we all ordered the same as the waitress made a crack at us "oh... water drinkers!" shoot.. what if we were really religious, or allergic to barley.. what a jerk. so anyways... we get our water and not until it comes in three tall bottles of evian that we're like.. "umm.. oh" so we sit there and drink our water, joke about how it's probably $5 each, laugh about how it's a social and if anyone were to come up to us and ask what we do we'd reply "nothing.", we laughed about how no one wanted to talk to us, about how we probably looked like we crashed the wrong party, and about how hungry we were. the food finally came and we went to grab some appetizers. sakura didn't want to be rude and grabbed like two items (because the girl in front of her didn't get anything), whereas i just grabbed one thing off each plate (it was so dark i couldn't see what was what.. so i thought i'd just sort it out later at the table) and carol followed suit. later sakura told us that she was shocked to see how much food we'd gotten, but bummed out because she was hungry and the platters were all empty when she wanted to go back for seconds. her bad. so we sat there for a little while longer, watched people walk in, look around for a place to sit and sit everyone except for with us. we watched the president go around to each table and chit chat with them, except for our table. so we just sat and laughed at ourselves, and probably everyone else. we joked more about the president and sakura joked about how she was going to flirt with him "so i noticed that you were standing over there looking at me," we joked about how young he was and how anyone could be president - i'm going to be president and sakura's going to be treasurer and we're going to do korean bbq's. (hah) later when we decided that we were hungry we asked the waitress for a menu. for the next 45 minutes or so we watched her flirt with the table of guys next to us who probably thought they were the coolest guys there and trying to get the waitress to drink with them and not bring us a menu. then she brought us a bill and it was like $12 (FOR WATER??!!) when she really didn't give us a choice for free water.. she tricked us.. punk. but that was partly our own faults as well, but she really wasn't a waitress, at least not to us, and we didn't get our menu, and she was stupid and mean, so i said no tip for her. sakura and carol felt bad, but i was in a ruthless mood.. i really did not like her. and then i was thinking that i wanted dessert, so i asked for a dessert menu, and of course she said she'd bring it, and of course never did. she did bring the guys at the next table two rounds of drinks. and as we were leaving the president said goodbye to us as he was hitting on one of my friends all while his voice was cracking. it's been a pretty boring week. but what do you expect... my life is lame.
anyways.. so as i casually sip on my wine cooler and try to remember what's happened in the past week or so.... here goes:
last weekend i went to duane's funeral. it was good to see all the people there, and see people i hadn't seen in awhile (from hs) but bad because of the circumstances which we were gathered in. i didn't cry, because i'm not much of a crier, but it was sad. but it was also a bit of a "celebration" of life, because that's the kind of personality duane had. it was also weird because his family had put together a collage of all these articles and stuff online about him, and lo and behold my entry about him. i am a mess with words, sorry that i'm not more eloquent.
i missed out on going to disneyland with carrie and nicole to go meet andrew firestone (yum) because i was under house arrest (living at home sucks a lot sometimes). i was supposed to clean the upstairs because we had people coming and my mom also wants me to switch from the front upstairs room (big) to the small upstairs room (small) which also blows mad goats. i slept in the small room last night and i feel so suffocated. i also don't like the position the bed is in. ick. anyway...
the week was pretty ordinary.. not much. working as carrie's slave. although on monday i didn't have to go and so i picked up my sister from the airport, then had lunch with sakura at the loft (mmm..) and then umm.. slept all day? i can't even remember... shoot.. my memory sucks. i'm either old or i've taken too many drugs. i really didn't do much else.. slept, watched my reality tv.. big brother and cupid (it's SOOOOOOOO going to be hank.. i love him. hahahah) and cleaned a little bit here and there. wednesday i went to this fancy schmancy seafood and steak place with sakura and carol for this ucsd alumni thing. it was okay and we got a mini-plate of appetizers and paid $4 for some bottled water.. stupid waitress. she sucked so much. we didn't leave her any tip. i was so mad. i would have taken money from her if i could have. we sat by ourselves and laughed at us and nobody wanted to come by and talk to us.. we probably looked to "fresh" to be there. haha. but i saw some old friends and got their info, so that's cool :)
last night (friday) i met up with nicole in diamond bar (the BOONIES) to go bowling for carlene's birthday. i almost died on the way there though. i was in the wrong lane while trying to transfer freeways (i frikkin HATE those exchanges where the north and south exits are like a mile apart) so i slowed down a lot to try to change lanes except there were two cars next to me and in my rearview i see a car swerve to not hit me (thanks) and then got honked at as i tried to merge into the other lanes... argh!! and THEN i frikkin missed the exit especially because i didn't want to risk my life again to get to the exit but the next exit was like 2.5 miles!! and then after i got off the freeway i got lost because i was looking for a huge sign and there wasn't one. *phew* it's okay.. i went, wished carlene a happy birthday, played some arcade games and sat and talked with nicole and kathy kemp (who was up for a visit) and some friends. then we went back to nicole's to have some fun on friendster. it was fun. i drove home (without any casualties) and slept in my new cage. today i woke up late and chilled. went to this mercedes benz thing in inglewood, and although didn't get to test drive any cars, got to eat free cheesecake (yum) and see karin sing and this asian boyband "at last" hahaha.. it was interesting... but they're no *nsync.
i also went a little crazy with the spending of the money. i bought dawson's creek season 1 on ebay (YAY .. i'm going to watch them ALL when i get it. i can't wait.) then i bought 3 dvd's at blockbuster's buy 2 get 1 free sale (i should have went back to the one where the guy offered me his employee discount.. heheh) and then bought a harry potter postcard book and also wanted to buy another book at borders. then bought ice cream and wine coolers. whew... i think i'm going to go back to borders and buy that book.. it seems really interesting. i should get back into reading. hahah.. maybe i can be smart again. i think i want to go drinking sometime.. who wants to play?

i got my *nsync uno cards. they are awesome.. and complete with a cd of a cool it's gonna be me remix. oh yea.
there are times when i love the comforts of home, but there are times when i absolutely hate living at home with the nagging from the parents, the restrictions, the yelling, the fighting and the tears. this is one of those times.
i don't have to work tomorrow.. yay for no more hot sweaty nasty work (who knew you could sweat when you type) boo for not being able to help carrie and leaving her all alone with the mess. i'm sorry. smile crocodile. things aren't as bad as they seem, at least you're not me.
my sister is engaged, her wedding'll be in the next year, in taiwan with a reception in la. and i get to be a bridesmaid. :P
i'm still in love with those chippendale boys. (sorry nicole.. i tried to think bad thoughts. it didn't work)
yes.. i know.. i need a life.

whew... happy september. wow.. time is passing so quickly. it's almost the time to head back to school, except i graduated, and since i don't have a job i officially have nothing to do. i can't even pretend to feel like i'm going back to school after it's started.
on thursday i didn't go to work to spend some quality time with the relatives. we ate lunch, i drove them around looking for different things- clothes/yu-gi-oh cards etc etc. it was good to just hang out and get to know them better since we hardly get to see each other. that night we cooked a big 'ol crab and short rib dinner (yum) and ate ice cream and krispy kremes. it was great.
there was a few bumps on the road to going to vegas, but we got all the kinks worked out and bright and early on friday morning carrie and i were on our way. i slept while carrie drove and we arrived at the paris hotel and met up with nicole, carlene, sonny, chelle, jen and ira and nicole's mom. we proceeded to her aunt's for some yummy food and quality movie making of air bud. that's the funniest movie that i've seen in awhile. :P funny for being so god awful. later that night we went clubbing at Venus at the Venetian and met up with pic and venus. it was a good time and there was lots of alcohol flowing through our systems which was pretty evident if you received a call from one of us screaming and yelling. if not, i'll leave it up to your imagination. :) it was good times.
the next day after sleeping a good portion of the day away we went shopping at caesar's- they had a cute boy standing at the front of a&f greeting people and modeling clothes in true a&f catalogue style ;), ate lunch at cheesecake factory, and then rested afterwards. all the while gambling here and there at a slot machine or two (or a ginormous slot machine :) ) my favorite is pulling those handle bars.. it's so fun (well.. until you lose all your money). after the naps chelle, carrie, nicole and i got ready to go see our boyfriends at the show at the rio :) it was a good time and it was kind of like a *nsync concert.. lots of screaming girls, boys dancing. whatever :) it was definitely a good time and i think there's a few new obsessions floating around. afterwards we grabbed a bite to eat at the paris cafe and then nicole, chelle and i went back to club rio and went dancing. it was a really good club and i totally enjoyed it except for the skeezy guy who tried to molest all three of us. ick. we danced, enjoyed the scenery and kept our eyes out for steve ;). we decided to make our last night in vegas a good one and so afterwards we walked around, tried to go to the after party but didn't want to pay the $20, then went to the palms- where nicole saw jamie foxx!! i just saw his entourage, then cruised the strip (in nicole's soccer mom minivan - sexy), saw the fremont experience and then came back at 6am. whoo hoo. went to bed at the sun was rising.
sunday we were leaving to beat the labor day traffic. so we checked out and then carrie and i went to go eat the world buffet at the rio (mmm). it was good stuff but it sucks that as you get older the less you are able to shove in your stomach. i feel like i'm not getting my money's worth. hahah. we waited in line for like an hour, stuffed our faces and then went over to circus circus. we relived some of our childhood and played the midway and then gambled some of our money away at the casinos afterwards. carrie drove home and we talked and listened to our new cds (who goes to vegas to buy cds? apparently we do.) and then i came home and just chilled. it was a good weekend, i wish i could have won a little more (or some money at all) but i had a good time for my first post 21 vegas trip. :)
after vegas, things are still going in full force.. life still happens even when you're not there. both happy news and sad news. my sister called last night and told us that she's engaged! :) jeff-gu proposed to her at half-moon bay and i guess she told my mom that the wedding may be in taiwan. trippy.. i know they say that crap about "you're not losing a sister- you're gaining a brother" but that's not all entirely true. but hey.. i guess we all wondered when it was going to happen, and now's the time. so congrats to her because she's happy :) i hope it was everything she had dreamed of.. and the next year will be pretty hectic i guess. hehehe.. i'm going to be a bridesmaid :P (* sigh.. always the bridesmaid.. never the bride :P)
and in sad news.. after i came back i was perusing friendster and i found out that one of my friends from high school had died. :( i feel bad for not keeping in touch more and never really knowing what was going on. i was going to send him a message on friendster, but never knew what to say..and always thought "i'd do it later" and now never got the chance :( he was battling cancer and was even in the news for being an experiment subject for using scorpion venom to cure cancer. he was an awesome, amazing funny guy who was nice to everyone and i always remember seeing a smile on his face. everyone's going to miss him.

my life is pretty uninteresting, and thus there is nothing to blog about, but yet i feel this need to do it. i'm addicted.
my relatives came and we've been doing random stuff. dinner at red lobster (yum.. cheesy bread) and shopping. trying to find t-shirts for one cousin and yu-gi-oh cards for the other. other than that i've just been working here in the shackles of carrie chen. it's alright, but it's getting old and everyday i go i don't want to do anything. that's bad huh? my parents took the relatives to las vegas so i'm here all by myself. carrie came over and we went to dinner. we were going to see legally blonde 2 but instead came home and filled up on reality tv. oh yea. jee sucks, allison is a big fat whore, and i want to be lisa shannon, and hank rocks my world (or i wish he would). you know what i'm talking about right? :P during cupid, hank and lisa were on their "date" and they were talking and he was like "i want to take off all your clothes and make love to you" carrie and i screamed and almost died. it was so shocking.. hahah.. we're dumb. laters we had ice cream and i made her watch varsity blues. but now she has to admit it is a good movie.. i think she likes it more than she'll ever admit.. but she was really interested. johnny moxon is gorgeous.. and lance harbor.. YUMMY. and that's all.. i uploaded some new pictures, and laughed at some of the ways people have been finding my blog. it's very interesting what people search for. crazy.

the weekend is half over. damn.. i need more weekend.
friday was a stressful day. i went to work, which was alright and left early to go to my eye dr. appt. carrie followed me home to use my internet.. but only got a few minutes out of it because of traffic and my dad was doing something to the computer before she could use it. i also called the real world and left a message about being a PA... so the chick called me back and i was driving on the 110 and on my cell phone, and i heard that she wanted me to bring something down to "the house" (how frikkin cool is that) from LA to san diego. and then i also heard that they wanted me to work as PA for a week. i screamed like a school girl, got all nervous and excited at the same time. and i finally composed myself and called her back to ask a few questions about pay and other stuff.. and found out that they just wanted me to deliver the package for them.. and i guess i misheard about the other offer (damn). so i contemplated driving from torrance to van nuys to sd and back, just to be a part of the real world for 5 nanoseconds. shit. in the end it didn't end up happening because the guy didn't want me to have to battle traffic north to van nuys and south to sd. they probably just found someone who wasn't such a geek. i beat myself up a little bit friday for not just "doing it" and jumping at the chance because who knows where it could have led up to, and plus they were more likely to remember me and hopefully like me if i met them in person - rather than this wishy washy girl on the phone. dang it. but i would have also sat in traffic for 6 hours or so.. which may not have been too bad for the $200 i would have gotten. but it's done and over with and it's too late now.. so i guess maybe it just wasn't meant to be. when the girl called me she said that she was a "believer in fate" and i had called at the right time... so i kicked myself a little bit for slamming opportunity when it came knocking at my door. but maybe it was "fate" that i didn't do it... who knows. argh
instead i cleaned all night (yay?) my uncle and family were coming in from taiwan, so i had to clean out the entire upstairs and the rest of the house. for those many people who haven't been inside my house (even when you had to pee badly) it was a disaster.. crap everywhere, no place to sit, hardly a place to walk. but *ta-da* my house is pretty sparkling.. it's kind of amazing. i mean.. it's not perfect clean where every thing is in it's place ... but it's really good, especially compared to before. SO.. i think the ban on guests just might be lifted from out house if i can keep it this way (which shouldn't be too hard).. so whoo hoo.. yay!! come visit me!! you can come inside and we'll sit down and chat.. oh yay. :)
i spent most of today cleaning, got a wake up call from carrie.. she's fond of calling me when she's awake and knows that i'm sleeping. :P i now have the super snifflies from all the dust or something.. but i hate it because i have a runny nose.. at least my headache and wheezing is gone. i went to stup's engagement party.. SO CUTE. i want to be engaged, and get fun presents and plan fun stuff.. nicole can i work for you when you become a wedding planner? but it was pretty exciting.. i can be such a girl sometimes. yikes. and trish sent her a present from up north even though she couldn't come to the party.. what a sweetheart. awww.. i want to be engaged. hahah. it was a really cute party. it was at this GINORMOUS house in altadena. i seemed really nice from the outside.. but as i was walking away when i left i looked at just how big it was. there was several large rooms downstairs (living room, dining room, guest room, sitting room.. etc etc etc) and there were like 10 or 12 windows upstairs for bedrooms. wow. stup is part of the private high school crowd. hahah.. and we used to play against them in high school.. haha.. the prep league. hahah. crazy memories. but it was good, there was good food and ice cream cake (yum!!) and she got a lot of really cute presents and everyone really liked the gift that i gave her (whoo hoo). it was fun.. :)

friday was a stressful day. i went to work, which was alright and left early to go to my eye dr. appt. carrie followed me home to use my internet.. but only got a few minutes out of it because of traffic and my dad was doing something to the computer before she could use it. i also called the real world and left a message about being a PA... so the chick called me back and i was driving on the 110 and on my cell phone, and i heard that she wanted me to bring something down to "the house" (how frikkin cool is that) from LA to san diego. and then i also heard that they wanted me to work as PA for a week. i screamed like a school girl, got all nervous and excited at the same time. and i finally composed myself and called her back to ask a few questions about pay and other stuff.. and found out that they just wanted me to deliver the package for them.. and i guess i misheard about the other offer (damn). so i contemplated driving from torrance to van nuys to sd and back, just to be a part of the real world for 5 nanoseconds. shit. in the end it didn't end up happening because the guy didn't want me to have to battle traffic north to van nuys and south to sd. they probably just found someone who wasn't such a geek. i beat myself up a little bit friday for not just "doing it" and jumping at the chance because who knows where it could have led up to, and plus they were more likely to remember me and hopefully like me if i met them in person - rather than this wishy washy girl on the phone. dang it. but i would have also sat in traffic for 6 hours or so.. which may not have been too bad for the $200 i would have gotten. but it's done and over with and it's too late now.. so i guess maybe it just wasn't meant to be. when the girl called me she said that she was a "believer in fate" and i had called at the right time... so i kicked myself a little bit for slamming opportunity when it came knocking at my door. but maybe it was "fate" that i didn't do it... who knows. argh

work work work.. i don't know how i end up with a layer of dirt on my stomach... does the dirt seep through the shirt?! THAT'S how dirty that warehouse is.
but enough about that... this isn't a real real blog..not in my usual style.. i just really don't know what to do, and my journal is packed up in a box somewhere in the backyard.. so my blogger is going to suffice for now. i REALLY don't know what to do in terms of my jobness. i have an interview on tuesday for a friend of a friend of my sister's... so that's good. although i'm at a low point right now and i feel like i won't get it (like all those other jobs i interviewed for). a friend's mom of mine said that i need to get a job.. even if it was at the gap.. to boost my morale because being rejected so many times can be blows to your self-confidence and it drags you down to where you don't want to even try anymore. i think for me it's a little bit of that in combination with my laziness. i'm horrible. but anyways.. so back to this dilemma of san diego. i talked to my sister today and in her usual "do it on your own" tone we talked a little bit. i hadn't called the real world lady yet because i wasn't even sure if i wanted to do it, like if it was a possibility. but she said i should call anyways... but then i got to thinking.. that maybe i could just do it anyways.. go for that non-pay in san diego.. try to get a job at gap or a restaurant and work for ucsd ica (i KNOW i could always get that.. but it's not enough) find a place to live.. blah blah. does that seem too insane? am i just going for the superficiality and commercialism of being a part of the mtv chain? is it just a fantasy? or can i make it a reality. i've always been a huge wuss when it comes to making decisions. i always ask everyone i know.. what should i do, what should i do... because i'm not strong enough to make decisions on my own? or that i think that i'll make the wrong ones? i don't know.. but i am so indecisive because i don't like to mess up or face rejection.. which many times i have ended up in the sh*t pile. i mean.. look at my roommate situations for the past years.. i am awful. but i guess i'll call, talk to the lady, hope she's nice, pray that she offers me a job (not likely)... but see what she has to say anyways.. talk about interning.. see what it requires.. and then think if it's possible. argh.. i hate the real world too.. (haha.. no pun intended.. ironic huh?)

my life is pretty blah. not really doing much except working in carrie's house of sweat and dirt and nasty 'ol bugs and boxes. ugh. i am so pooped and dirty when i come home, that i can't even do anything. i went to go workout on monday, that was an accomplishment. hahah. jimmy told me about the slot machine exercise machines.. haha. funny. i also bought lots of food for me to pack lunches each day for work. haha. the best part about living at home is that your parents pay for your food. oh yea.
i've been contemplating a little but about the job market. i found out that the real world is going to begin shooting in san diego these upcoming months (san diego!!??) yea.. sucks that it's right after i frikkin graduate. so my sister's friend is the director and she tried to pull some strings but they are all staffed up.. (figures), but they're always looking for interns. first of all i don't know if that would work because i wouldn't be able to get school credit. and isn't in incredibly insane to move back to somewhere where i just moved from to work for an unpaid job? i mean.. sure i could MAYBE get promoted, i could maybe get good contacts, or that would be my foot in, and when am i EVER going to get to work on the real world and it would be an AMAZING opportunity. but there's just too many conflicting factors.. argh!! why couldn't i have stayed another year. crap. what do i do?
in other news.... today after work carrie and i wanted to go to hooters for their happy hour specials of $2.50 for 10 wings. it was my attempt to recover from my pizza port nostalgia (didn't quite work though). we totally stuff ourselves with wings and celery and then shopped a bit in santa monica. but before that i had to go to carrie's to shower because i was gross and didn't feel like going to go eat with cobwebs in my hair, so i followed her back to her apartment and on the way home, waiting to get into his car with his guitar was this HOTT guy with curly blond hair and amazing blue eyes. (and yes this was in my 5 second glance.) but he was so good looking, carrie noticed too. we squealed like school girls. oh my-lanta.

it's been awhile since i've blogged, i think i've been too busy washing the steak sauce smell from my clothes and my skin. :P anyhow.. it's been an eventful week. i've been working as yet another one of carrie's minions.. but at least i'm getting paid this time. i'm helping carrie "catch up" but i didn't realize that i would have to be working in her sweatshop. it's this nasty dirty warehouse that is hot as all heck and i have to clean and sort and organize crap. i come home sweaty and dirty and nasty... she didn't mention the sweatshop part... she's lucky i like her so much. but hey.. it's umm.. exercise? haha.. besides it ends this week, and i get some extra cash (yay!!) i am so broke i have harassed everyone that i know that owes me anything above a penny to collect. so it'll be nice when i get a check from her boss. :) just make sure i don't go shopping or go eat and blow it on something. (at least hold it until vegas right?)
so that's what i've been doing these weekdays for the few few few people who have noticed that i haven't been spending my days online gossiping about the current soap action. i have missed my friends in salem, harmony and pine valley. :( last thursday we went to sun america to help them with something they donated to carrie's company. i swear.. boys who dress nice make them look all that much better. i glanced at this one boy's cubicle everytime i passed by why moving chairs.. and one time he walked past me and smiled at me. i was going to die. hahaha.. i'm such a loser. but anyways.. i need a real job like that.. badly. but we also played mash.. with some interesting outcomes. i'm going to marry some nice gentlemen though.. as will carrie. hahahaa.. and i'm glad i didn't end up in the shack. saturday i played third wheel on sakura and hailes' date. we ate mexican food in south gate (haha) at a place hailes wanted to take us to, and then came back to the $3 movie theater to watch X2. it was pretty good. highlight of the night: hailes' funny stories about getting sexually harassed by his roommate (or hit on as we liked to call it... sakura's going to go beat her up soon) and hailes' cousin and brother coming out to look at the two girls hailes was going out with. haha. they're so the opposite of hailes.. it's funny how people turn out huh? sunday i helped carrie move .. mostly helped her pack up the rest of her stuff and got inquired about my lovelife by one of the old married movers that she hired (blech) and armando came later and we watched carrie's convention videos. armando was so excited. i wasn't. hahaha.. scrapbook award... according to carrie if looks could kill, that whole room would have been dead .. it was pretty funny seeing our reactions. later we got treated to olive garden for being such good friends and movers. hahaha.. my favorite quote for that night is from armando "i don't believe in people serving in the same position two years in a row" riiiiiiiiiiiiight. hahaha what a numnut.

so i basically hate carrie chen, because she is a huge moron and her clumsyness is contagious. i don't really know if i want to be associated with her anymore. today after i worked long and hard for her we went out to dinner because she had had a steak craving for a few days. and i flaked out on her a few times so i felt bad (never again). so we went to outback steakhouse and she ordered steak and i got chicken. we were eating just fine.. and we were sharing food like good little friends and so i grabbed the steak sauce after she was done and flipped it upside down real quick to make sure the sauce was consistent. when i flipped it back up i had A1 steak sauce all over me, on the seat, on my pants, on my shirt, my neck, my face and burning in my left eye. carrie.. not thinking at all.. decided not to screw the lid back on, just place it on top, and not tell me when she handed it to me. i bet she was one of those hoodlums that unscrewed the pepper before she left breakfast places. so yes.. and instead of helping me and my burning eye, she laughed.. cackled at my misfortune. what a jerk. the kind waitress brought me lots of water and extra napkins to wipe my face and neck and soda water for my clothes and carrie sat and laughed so much that she could hardly choke down her food. what kind of moron doesn't put the cap on food? ugh! that's the last time i share condiments with that clumsy fool!! ;P
you know what i also hate.. the way my parents constantly try to force me to do things that i don't want. and also how they treat me like a child. i feel like i'm in middle school all over again. i know i probably brought it upon myself since i didn't move out.. but it sometimes it's ridiculous. and although i know they mean well they keep shoving stuff in my face in regards to jobs and crap. like my mom made me take the cbest and now wants me to apply as an special ed or office assistant sub, and my dad wants me to apply with the city of los angeles .. even if it's like a janitorial job. my mother wants me to work in the school distict and my father wants me to get a city job. it's not like i don't appreciate their helpfulness.. but at the same time they shove it in my face and expect me to apply and take the job.. because i don't get the job i will be a failure, so i have to get it. but like they don't even consider what i want to do. i know i can't get everything that i want, but they act like i HAVE to apply for these jobs. i mean.. sure it doesn't hurt applying, or doing this work.. but i don't want to get stuck somewhere.. and live a life full of regret from not being able to do anything that i really wanted for myself. there were so many things and so many friends that i lost out on from my parents and them not letting me do anything. i don't really want that to happen when i'm 21 years old and a college graduate. maybe i should have moved out when i had the chance. rooar!! i'm done now. sorry for complaining.. please still love me.

man. i am so wiped out. my body is not happy with me. and i didn't really do all that much. but it was a pretty good weekend. i had a good time. i took the cbest. man.. i have not taken standardized testing in so long. it was a little awkward. i even felt a little awkward sitting in the desk/table thingymajigys.. and that's only be a couple month.. but still. whoa.. flashback to high school. it was okay except i was really tired and it took awhile for me to focus. so i hope that i passed. i was going to go back and double check all of my answers, but i got lazy and decided it was good enough. my essays, however, were true to form and quite craptacular like everything else i write .. but i still hope it's good enough to pass. or else i will cry.
afterwards i came home to an ant infested kitchen, so i cleaned as i tried to convince carrie to come with me to san diego and waited for vivian to arrive. carrie came over later to chill and we watched sweet home alabama.. awwww. and at 5pm vivian finally got here and vivian and i left for del mar and carrie went home. del mar was great.. i wasn't too sad that i missed out on the microbrew festival since i'm not a huge beer drinker. but jason mraz was awesome (as always). i got really excited and shrieked when he played the piano during 0% interest. i didn't know he could play, he apparently is a kick ass piano player. i got to hang out with the crispies, which is great because they are awesome. and aside from the couple making out during the entire show next to us, and the booty dancing girl who kept backing up closer and closer to me, the show was great. :) i got my goods from the crispies as well so that made me all the more excited. later we headed off to the sheblondeswede show @ 828, but stopped by brianne's to pick up some jason mraz placards she saved for me when the closed her wherehouse. yay.. more paraphernilia that i have no room for. haha. but when i get my own apartment/house again it will be so cute :) in my new room i might put up my super cute shower curtain on my window. heehee. but we attacked the traffic downtown and went to the 828 show and ate dinner there. i had a yummerific calzone and 4 glasses of coke so i could stay awake during the drive home. i was really tired but it was good to be in san diego and see the show and see friends. :) vivian and i drove back that night, chit chatting so i would stake awake, and i crawled into my bed at 4am.
i slept until 1:30pm when my sissy-poo called me to go out with her. it was good to hang out with my sister, we hardly get to much anymore. we went to costco, gobbled up the samples (mmm) and ate lunch, then went to the mall and my money-bags sister bought tons of new clothes and shoes. but everything looked really cute, and i loved picking things out for other people.. so it's all good. shopping is fun.. too bad i have no money. i was good, i only bought a pair of $6 shoes from payless that are super comfy and go pretty much with everything. plus i could maybe pass them off as both casual and semi-dressy. yay. came home and just chilled with the fam. i tried to clean a little but i have a small headache and am sooooo exhausted. maybe i'll just watch another movie and crochet in bed. sounds like a plan stan.

so yea.. i'm an unemployed loser still. so it might look like i'm going to go torture carrie at her work.. and just show her how incomptent i can be. i talked to the hr person at e! and she said she's going to try to get me to PA for fashion week.. which be kind of exciting. temporary, but money and kind of cool. hah. maybe i'll see my name on tv again.
thursday i chilled, woke up late, and then had lunch and ran errands with beth. and ate ice cream.. yuuummm.. plus i got my JEREMY JORDAN cd in the mail. i was SO excited.. just like a little school girl. probably because i was in middle school when we was my heartthrob. i blasted his cd and the "right kind of love" from my car and i'm sure everyone thought i was retarded.. but it was great. i've wanted that cd for so long and i got it for $5 on ebay... i heart ebay. and it was only so expensive because i added the extra insurance just in case it wouldn't get lost.. or else it would have been like $3. but i took no chances on jeremy jordan.
today my parents left for their weekend in palm springs with joey's family. i ushered them out of the house as quickly as possible, thinking it would be great.. but it was actually kind of lonely because i had no friends come over and have a raging wild "your parents are away" party and no boyfriend to play house with. so i am lame and went to costco (twice), michaels and jamba juice for dinner. watched tv, sat on the internet and studied for my cbest which i am taking in 7 hours. yea.. that mean i should probably be sleeping.
*thank you beth for letting me blow off my steam*

today my parents left for their weekend in palm springs with joey's family. i ushered them out of the house as quickly as possible, thinking it would be great.. but it was actually kind of lonely because i had no friends come over and have a raging wild "your parents are away" party and no boyfriend to play house with. so i am lame and went to costco (twice), michaels and jamba juice for dinner. watched tv, sat on the internet and studied for my cbest which i am taking in 7 hours. yea.. that mean i should probably be sleeping.

today was okay.. a little blah. i should have been more productive. but i guess i can only remedy that tomorrow with extra productiveness.
i got a wake up call from carrie who was talking about all sorts of things. i amazingly was coherent enough to talk back. it was 10am.. hahah man i am lazy. later my mom called and wanted to have me go with her to pick out rugs on her lunch hour. she probably just mostly wanted me for the manual labor.. but oh well. then we went to lunch at burger kind where i really wanted to try the chicken caesar salad club. it was alright. afterwards i picked up a few things for my dinner "date" and then went home to chill out with my sister for a few minutes. it was crazy.. my dad came home for lunch and left some liquid on the table... which the ants promptly attacked. so they was this liquid, with an outline of ants around the shape and a million other ants swarming to the festivities. and it was way gross, so i figured i'd leave it for my dad to clean (since i cleaned up the ant attack last night.. gross). but 30 minutes later.. all the liquid was gone!! and a little while after that.. all the ants were gone too! they sucked up all the liquid (i didn't know they had mouths) and cleaned the table and then left. wow.. it was like magic. i was soo impressed.. and a little weirded out.. but was glad i didn't have to clean that up and have ants crawling all over me. :P
later i drove to westwood to have dinner and a couch potato session with carrie. it was just a relax, have a good time and let go of frustrations time.. complete with pizza, buffalo wings and cheesecake. such piggies. we watched sex in the city, teen choice awards, big brother and pepsi smash... oooh yea. jason mraz rocks.. and i have a great new appreciation for maroon5.
tomorrow(today) i find out whether or not i'm still going to be an unemployed loser.

so it's been a pretty good couple of days..and i've been a bit antisocial.. and now i guess i'm just in a complacent mood. although i have no real reason to be.
saturday i hung out with my parents. we went to go eat at this chinese place trying to be american in monterey park.. it was interesting. like pf chang.. where there's "fusion" asian food, it's all posh and chic and cool, but this place was okay.. but people like it, it was super busy and my parents love this place, so it's all good. i had steak and shrimp.. heheh. then we went to go buy vegetarian food and then went over to joey's apartment to meet up with his mom. we sat around and chatted and waited for his family to get there, and once they did my parents chatted it up. that night i just chilled, i wanted to go watch american wedding.. but i am a loser with no friends, so i just stayed home.
sunday i went to disneyland!! yay! sakura flaked out (loser!!) and so it was me, carrie, nicole and armando. i finally got to ride on the ferris wheel with the swinging gondolas because nicole and carrie refuse everytime, so armando was my "scary" ride partner. seriously girls.. it's not that bad. but they are self-proclaimed wusses, so it's alright. we did the usual, roller coaster, grizzly rapids (where we got soooo soaked- my underwear was wet allll day- sorry if you had to sit in my seat after me. and we had to share a raft with the chinese tourists who cut us!!), the rollercoaster, and we also rode the new winnie the pooh ride! and king arthur's carousel. it was good times, we also ate lots of food. we're such piggies. it was a good time.. i *heart* disneyland. that night i was so tired and i was going to go to bed so early. i fell asleep, and then beth called and we talked for a few hours and then i went online and talked to phily for a few more hours! yikes.. but i had really great conversations with both of them. they rock.. quiero tu cuerpo philly!! jas jas jas! hahahaha.
needless to say i went to bed quite late and woke up late on monday... but i got a call from E! and set up an interview. whoo hoo!! i was kind of excited.. and to celebrate i watched two weeks notice.. which is way mushy and girly and made me depressed all over again. :P but it was good.. and i did some random stuff until annie's show last night at the acoustic playhouse. it was good.. she only played 4 songs, i wish she could have played more. maybe next time. today i had my interview. and it was okay. i think i did alright, but i also never know... so... we'll see. only time will tell. if i'm crying on thursday.. you'll know why. but maybe i'll go do a two week stint with carrie. hahaha.. but i'd be scared working for her.. she's intimidating and scary. and i'd be so scared of doing a bad job or not doing things right, or not understanding what she wanted.. i'd like fumble and stumble all over myself. i'm such a loser. but at least i'd have some money.. and maybe carrie will buy me lunch everyday.. har har har. :P i also have to do some heavy duty cleaning in the next two weeks, as well as study for the cbest this week (my reading comprehension sucks) and maybe trek down to sd saturday. busy busy.

so i broke down today and applied at tgi friday's and cpk for jobs. i would have also gone to the gap (well i actually did) but the manager i wanted wasn't there.. so i will just wait another week. i don't know if i've given up hope of getting a "real" job.. or i just want the money, or i just need something to get me out of the house. or maybe i'm just not quite ready to enter the "real" world yet. although when i need that medical insurance/dentist or eye appt.. i will be screaming for help.
to top it off my mother started lecturing me again. i don't know if it the "i know you're not moving out so i can treat you like shit again" motivation or what.. but yea. i don't know. at least i'm not getting the "i want grandchildren" or "you better not be gay" lectures like some people (haha).. but i did get the "do you think just sitting of your ass all day is making you fat? because i do" lecture. fantastic.
in other words i had a date with sakura tonight :) now that i've introduced her to the chocolate wonderland at chili's she is hooked. we had a second dinner and a great dessert and a tiny bit of alcohol. just like real grown ups.. and then went back home to our parents. wow.. i am a huge loser.

so i've been in this really weird mood today. i don't know if it's because i woke up at 4pm today or what.. but i'm just really off. i woke up rather late today, had a simple lunch and turned on the computer for some good 'ol job hunting. i screened my phone calls and am in this very low key mood. and not wanting to deal with lots of drama or anything down.. but i guess that's how people are all the time. but i feel like i'm in this passive place, where i'm not really myself..it's weird i can't really explain- but as i sit here at 3:30am chatting with manny about money.. i'm hoping by the time i finish this blog i'll be ready for bed. i really screwed up my sleeping schedule.. and i think the past few days have made me quite exhausted.. too much for my own good. i'm almost a little glad my oakland trip fell through because then i can just chillax and study for my cbest. which by the way i have found that my reading comprehension is atrocious.. it was always bad.. but never this bad!! i have lots of studying to do. i guess all that not reading in college was detrimental. i am not looking forward to this test.. i hate the fact that my mom is making me take it. another 4 hours of standardized testing. i thought i was done with those forever. 4 hours of my life i won't be able to get back. oh well.. 4 hours to make my mom happy, wouldn't it be funny if i didn't pass? actually it would be pretty sucky, because then it would prove that college made me stupider. (yes i know that's not a real word).
my interview was okay... it was kind of weird..and i felt like i was getting myself into some sort of pyramid/2by2/get your friends to come to bars so we can make money kind of thing. i mean.. it was legit i suppose, if i got the full time job there is benefits and what not. but the hoops i had to jump through are a bit fishy. but maybe i'll still try it anyways... and who knows.. i might like it. i just wonder how i'll explain this "interview" to my parents. afterwards i milled around hollywood, visited my old internship, shopped at amoeba music.. which is a pretty cool place. lots of cool things and i got stand by me and swing kids on tape and the maroon5 cd for pretty cheap. later i waited for a long time for the pepsi smash tv taping because they wouldn't let me get tickets until vivian got there, but it was all good because we got on the floor anyways. and it kind of sucks because they turned away like 125 people, some of which got there way before us. sorry kids.
pepsi smash was pretty cool. a little mini concert. i liked most of the artists.. but if they had switched staind with simple plan, and pharell with michelle branch, i would have been a happy camper. but it was good nonetheless, and super empty due to the fire marshall nazi who wouldn't let them put the other 125 in there. sucky. jason mraz was excellent, maroon5 was good, mya was more enjoyable that i thought. but their sound was weird and i couldn't always hear what was going on. it was pretty good though.. so thanks vivian for letting me tag along. it was good because i got really close to the stage and it was like being at a big rock show with a cool stage and big lights without being smushed by all the crazy fans. although i am partially deaf in my ears by the girl screaming behind me. i wanted to smack her.
today i slept and chilled. and went to dinner with my parents. we eat out a lot more than we used to than when i was little. i just noticed that. it's not that we have more money.. i guess my parents have just gotten used to being alone.. and its better to just go out than eat leftovers all the time. i had korean bbq and tofu.. it was yummy. all topped by the melon flavored gum.. i love that gum.
i came home and started to do some stuff on the computer.. and 6 hours later.. here i am. with nothing really accomplished. where did all the time go? i've become quite lame and boring and very lazy. even moreso that before.. and i thought it wasn't possible. maybe i should just go get that job at the gap or friday's.. to get me off my ass. but there are so many things that i need to do that haven't been done. like write that letter to my sheisty apartment complex, get new eyeglasses, pick up my contacts, clean my room, clean the house, study for my cbest. yikes.. so many things to do, so much time, and yet i don't.. i'm horrible,

it was a little scary earlier with the whole thunderstorm and all. the indiana weather followed us home i guess.
today i hung out with my daddy cuz he had today off. he cooked lunch, and we lounged around, while i did the usual soap opera watching. then we went out to run errands! i got a new cell phone! whoo hoo.. it's purrrtty. but i do miss my old one.. i'm a sucker for familiarity. (and i feel bad for inanimate objects.. but i still love you old cell phone!) anyhow.. i got the last of my chicago pictures back and developed, although i'm still missing my roll from district convention.. weird. cute pictures :) then i came home and played with my phone all afternoon/night. programming phone numbers, playing with ring tones, and colors... ooohhh. yes.. i'm a geek. but now no one will see my "airtouch" cell phone and say "dang.. your phone's so huge" hah. aww.. i miss my old cell. hah. tonight it rained so hard!! and there was lightning and thunder.. i thought we might almost have a power outage. while i was driving back from borrowing sakura's cbest book the street lights went out.. it was strange. and there there was this bright flash of light and thunder lounder than i've ever heard it before. it was way scary. but it seems to be gone for now. i can sleep safely :)
i have my interview tomorrow (but thanks for calling to wish me good luck today carrie!) i hope your fingers are still crossed. but it's this party promotions place.. haha.. so then you all have to come if i get the job :P partying every night here i come.. oh i am sure my parents will love this job.

this weekend was interesting. but it was fun. on friday i got ready for my interview to get a phone call to tell me that it was postponed.. soo... i did some random stuff and waited for carrie to come over. fighting the la traffic, we finally got on the road about 6:30-ish? and drove down to sd. speeding all the way down the toll road and past the accident we arrived at Twiggs for Aspasia Aid CD release party just in time to catch the end of pete's show. yay!! it was good times.. then watched lisa sanders, then lindsey troy and then Bushwalla (and crew). it was good times and i got to see fun friends :) i gave philly her presents, chatted with a few people and carrie and i headed out to get some food because i had only a bowl of cereal that day. after the big debate of friday's or hooters we decided (more like carrie made me decide) it'd be more convinient to visit the old stomping grounds of la jolla friday's. too bad none of my favorite waiters are there .. damn. we ate and then booked it home so that i didn't turn into a frog.
the next day woke up fairly early to go look at apartments with carrie. i was really indecisive about what i was going to do.. as far as move out or not. so we looked at singles, 1 bdrm and 2 bdrms. man.. the real world is expensive.. especially if you don't want to live in a not-so-nice area. crazyness. laters we met up with kathy hahahaha and sakura for wings at hooters. yum. finally satisfied that craving carrie had (since icon.. what a weirdo). but it was a good time and we saw some crazy cool bucket drummer street performers. it was a good time. i love my girls :) i'll only miss our crazy board meetings because i'll miss hanging out with sakura and kathy so much and tanya and hanan and carli and everyone else of course. now that we're all split apart. our lovely all girl board.. we rule... *sigh* anyhow.. kathy is way funny and still fall asleep as always. after wards i wanted to get dessert at chili's and carrie wanted chocolate and i swore to her that chili's had the best chocolate dessert. everyone laughed and made fun of me for wanting to go to another restaurant right after we just finished dinner. but when we sat down and got the dessert.. bam.. we finished that dessert in like under a minute. we cleaned the plate too.. we were in chili's for a total of 8 minutes. 4 girls and a plate of chocolate and ice cream. no contest. but anyways.. we also found this guys organizer on the ground and picked it up and took it so we could return it to him cuz we're good samaritans like that. after a handy search on google we found out that he was semi-famous and was on mtv's undressed. awwww yea :) hahaha. i have a new famous friend. hahaha. i
sunday early morning the hunt for carrie's apartment was on yet again. so i officially apologize to carrie for the umpteenth time for flaking out on her as a roomie. i don't think i'm quite ready for the real world yet and it hit me too hard. i'm sorry :( but carrie just might be moving in with me!! hahahahaha. either that or nicole's backyard. i guess nicole's house is a refuge for all lost souls.. and foreigners. haha. so we searched around and found some cheap places in shady neighborhoods, this really cute way expensive place in redondo, and a place we thought was okay on melrose but wasn't in the greatest of neighborhoods. yikes. met up with nicole, carlene and sonny at hollywood and highlands to shop, eat, talk. (what else do we do? oh that's right.. not much) i also played phone tag with my new famous friend and he came to cpk where we were eating to come get his organizer. i, of course, never admitted to looking him up or knowing he's famous (hahah) and he offered me $20 for being a "god-send and so sweet and honest" aww. i gracefully refused (although my wallet is empty) because i dunno.. karma right? anyhow.. ate dinner at cpk where we had multiple waiters.. the manager served us and then this other dude from guadalajara (which nicole thought was his last name) who was always 5 minutes in the wrong time. he would ask us if we wanted to order after we just did and ask us if were waiting for the dessert tray when we were just waiting for our food. and then rushed to the kitchen to see what was going on. it was bizarre. but i'm glad to know that he cared :) afterwards the drunkard aka carrie wanted to get something to drink (after her stressful apartment hunting) and so we went to the lucky strike bowling which is this really cool trendy (expensive) bowling/bar/dining place. it's really neat and cool.. a little pricey, but a fun place to just hang out with nice furniture :) it was a pretty good weekend. i didn't spend much at home.. i'm sorry parents :( but we'll have lots of fun quality bonding/fighting time now that i'm not moving out. and maybe they'll even gain another daughter. but i'm sure with my luck they'll cast me aside and love carrie. that's the way it always is. just like those birthday parties they threw for joey.

so it's a little past 4am and i just finished reading harry potter order of the phoenix. yea i know.. i'm a weirdo. i haven't read this much since... the babysitter's club i think. too bad they can't make textbooks this interesting. but anyways.. after nicole's post (way back when) i was convinced that i thought i knew who died.. but i guess not. it's still pretty sad though. and too bad they had to make the asian girl a bitch.. but whatever. now i need something new to read.. but i'm glad i finished it.. i just had to, it was killing me. it was so suspenseful too.. ugh.. i'm such a nerd.
anyhow.. on wednesday i went to the tony lucca show with ann at hotel cafe. ahh.. memories. i ran into seth from edmonds when i walked by to go see if susan was there, and it was good chatting with him. some of the people i had worked with had gotten laid off, who knows what can happen in a year huh? but it was good chatting with him. went back to the tony lucca show, 3 other groups/guys perform before him. i really liked the first group- ben shore (?).. and everyone else was pretty good, tony said something about his listening party and how JC was going to be here. *grumble* and it was just a night of enjoyable music. i sat way up in front on the floor, which made me quite self-concious... but i'm sure no one noticed me, as usual. i can't quite say that i felt the same way last year at the jason mraz hotel cafe show, and that it wasn't quite as good. maybe i'm just too biased.. or maybe my expectations were too high. i was also really tired and had trouble paying attention.. so maybe that too.. i don't know. my attention span has been getting effectively shorter though. hmm...
the job search is bumping along- at a mediocre pace. but i guess i can't really expect too much.. either because i'm too picky, not marketable enough or the economy sucks. and i'm lazy. but i had an interview on wednesday for a part time paid internship. it was an office set up in an apartment building (which i'm learning is more and more common i guess.. for smaller places) and the lady made me wait half an hour.. it just kind of made me not so excited. but i had the interview, and although i think i did okay, i probably didn't seem as excited as i should have been. and while i didn't need to outright lie, it wouldn't have hurt to fake it. and then if i got it, i could always turn it down later. but i can't do anything abou tit now, so i'll just have to wait and see if she calls. i have another interview tomorrow/today (friday) which is also an office set up in a residence as well i suppose. interesting. it's like a party/event planning/promotions place.. but it's a full time job. of what i'm not exactly sure. but i guess we'll find out.. it seems interesting and alright. i just don't know why they would really want to promote events 5 nights a week. isn't that a little much? but whatever... i'm just going to have to remember to fake it. smile and nod jean. smile and nod. but cross your fingers and wish me good luck. having a real job would be good.. even if it wasn't the most ideal one at first right?
and what blog of mine wouldn't be complete without my usual whining. not that i am really whining, but just something that i was thinking about. that everyone wants to be part of something. but usually most people are part of something or friends with someone. but it always seems like it's not good enough and they want to be part of whatever else someone else is in, or be friends with more than just their friends. i always had a big problem with this in middle school, and i wonder if its just me and my crazy problems, or do other people want this too. i mean.. i guess it's part of that whole "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence" or something like that. or maybe it's just the longing and desire to be liked/loved/belong. and you always want to be part of something that you're not..but no one can ever be part of everything, but yet you always wish you were. you eventually must choose, and then live a life of "what-ifs" but maybe some people (me) tend to dwell on it more than others, and that's where the difference lies. i don't know. i think about weird things late at night.

the past weekend has been alright. more of the relatives hanging out, and more of the eating out. saturday i was all set to clean and maybe be productive, but carrie called and said she was at del amo, so i went to go meet her. she's such a bad influence!! we ate, and shopped a little, and i went to go return the shirt i bought and we had some good "eye candy" as carrie called it with the nordstrom's salesboys. mmm. yummy. afterwards we went to the cheesecake factory for appetizers and dessert for dinner and chatted some more. it was good times. yet again she cheered me up for a bit. thanks again :) i swear.. if i was a lesbian i'd date her... she's pretty much my girlfriend already. oops.. i mean sugar mama.
sunday i was going to stay home and clean, but we went out to dim sum with my cousins and aunt and uncle. it was yummy as well, but i was feeling pretty not-hungry. maybe it was my too tight pants. but hey.. afterwards sherry, joan and i did a little shopping and then went to joan's where we hung out and watched tv and the beginning of just married. we just hung out for a little bit and then met up with sherry's parents for dinner at their hotel. and then sherry left for her flight and joan took me home. eric also left for taiwan a little later that night. i got in a few hours of quite solitude where i sent off a few resumes. and i also got to start my new harry potter book that i had bought earlier that day. oh yah. i'm excited ..
today i was maybe going to do some more job hunting but vicky (my cousin) called me and so i went with her and her husband edwin to meet up with joan and jeff for lunch. then we hung out at joan's place, where i watched some more tv and tivo.. :) and then my dad and mom came over later to make dumplings (yummm) for vicky and edwin's last dinner in la. it was good times, and i just got to chill and hang out and watch tv, without being yelled at. :) but i also helped cook dinner and my dad kept telling me "do this.. assistant" "come on trainee" it was funny. but i'm pretty beat now, so bed is coming soon.
but lately i have been feeling down a little bit. because so many times i feel like i'm stuck and i'm going nowhere. this mostly refers to my lack of money and job hunt replies. it's not that i don't like to live at home.. but there are time when i just can't stand it. and my mother tries to blame it on me.. like she said that if i can't live with her and her asking me to "tone it down" and me being happy... then she can't really help it. but i think that it's worse than she makes it out to be.. or just that our perceptions of what "reasonable" is. i just maybe really can't stand being restrained like i'm in middle school again now that i've had the four years of freedom. and i don't need to be a wild child and go out to bars, and come home drunk with a handful of guys or anything. but i just hate to be lectured everytime i want to go out with my friends or when i talk on the phone for long periods of times or late at night. or even when i get yelled at when i go to bed late or stay in bed until 1. it's not just little things, but the times when we fight, it just makes me a very horrible person, someone i don't want to be. but yea.. but it's hard because i don't have money saved up, don't have a job and my potential roommate needs to move soon. it's a big dilemma. so to make a long story short, i need a job. badly.

ugh.. i am so full... i have been eating way too much food for the past few days.. and it's all catching up to me... my pants are not going to like me this weekend. and it's too hot to be gaining more layers of warmth!!! (aka... weight)
wow.. i can't believe tomorrow is friday.. what have i been doing all week? nothing really. monday and tuesday i just kind of sat around, doing what i usually do. my daddy was off on monday so we took my car in and then went to lunch and then i hung out while he went to the dentist. tuesday i couldn't run any of the errands that i wanted to do because i had no car... including bring manny lunch as he ims me "bring me food wench" that's charming isn't it? but i got my car and then ran a few errands with my dad and went off to costco to order a bday cake and to get my pictures and to try and get harry #5. gasp!! they didn't have it. shoot.. when that book sells for $15.. of course they sold out.. sad sad sad sad sad. i want mr. potter to go back to costco. i guess i'll just have to wait. (see what you've turned me into nicole).
wednesday i slept in.. i think there was a late night of phone conversations with MY carrie (are you reading this rupert?) and whatever.. it's not like i have a job or anything important to go to. but.. i did manage to apply to a few places through monstertrak and one through the joblist my sister sent me. shooot.. haven't heard from anyone back yet. job hunting sucks. i need a joooob.. anyone want to hire me as their personal assisstant? please?
then.. i went to beth's surprise birthday bbq that ryan planned for her. yay!! happy birthday beth!! it was cool.. i ate sooooo much. petey and ryan bbq'ed steak, chicken.. mmmm.. and then chocolate cake. oh yea. it was fun stuff. a mixture of torrance people and cki people and we played scattergories and cranium. good times... i am a sensoscketch whiz!! we played and hung out until 11pm and then i went over to joan's to meet my dad and sherry. i got to watched big brother on the tivo (i miss tivo.. i so need to get one) and then when my dad came we sat around for a bit and then i went home. i was tired.. but i totally couldn't sleep!! argh!! it tossed and turned for a few hours.. it sucked.
the next morning my cousin woke me up bright and early and i drove to joan's to go get her. her friend from college met up with us and we went to the stinking rose for lunch. it was pretty good.. i'd never been there before. i went back to joan's and sherry and her friend went to newport beach and to OC.. and i napped, watched some more tivo. :P then i realized i had waited too long and had to wade in traffic. dang it. that night i went out with my aunt and uncle and my fam to yummy chinese food. came home laters and watched sex in the city season one... good times.
today was fun.. went to king's hawaiian for lunch with the extended family and my daddy, and then shopping with sherry where i played fashion consultant at forever skank... man.. i really should look into it as a job :) i made sherry buy a $40 and bought a $10 top myself (from br) that is the same style as one beth got on her bday. haha.. we can be twins. bleh. but it was surprisingly cute and a good color and for a good price.. so it was exciting. i should probably go to back to looking for jobs and what not.. hmm. but oh wells. yay.. the weekend is here!

so this weekend has been pretty chill. on friday night my family and jeff-gu went to the kettle for my dad's bday. i got to eat my bran muffins.. mmmm. (no really they're good there- that's the only place i eat bran muffins.. i swear.) afterwards we were going to see a movie but we went bowling instead!! yay.. i used to go bowling with my dad when i was little.. but we have gone in awhile. so it was a fun old time family thing. except my mom didn't go because she hurt her ankle earlier this week. but she's not much of a physical type person anyhow. my dad still beat everyone despite not having bowled for awhile.. and i sucked hardcore. bowling is definitely not my sport. hmm..
saturday i didn't do much.. slept til way late and then tried to clean a little bit. chatted online.. nothing too exciting. i live a boring life.
today i went to disneyland!! yay!! carrie picked me up and after i made her drive me around to costco which was way more crowded than disneyland, we went of the rapids water ride.. got drenched (but it was sooooo hot.. so it was great) and met up with nicole. and we had a carrie, nicole and jean's day of fun!! it was good we went on a few rides.. i still couldn't convince them to go on the ferris wheel with me :( and then they tried to get random strangers to ride with me... what punks. it was good stuff.. we also ate a lot. we're stupid. but we talked a lot.. which is always nice to have a good chat with your friends :) hahaha.. and then we lost carrie on main street. she is an ego-maniac for sure because she decided to leave us and go into a store and ASSUMES that we hear her (when neither nicole or i think she even said anything at all) and then she thinks we're waving at her through a window? what a weirdo. she needs to get over herself. hahahahahha
anyhoo.. it was a good day at disneyland :) the day ended much better than it started out. so thank you carrie for rescuing me, and listening to me and understanding, you are my savior :) and thanks nicole for coming out to play, making me laughing and entertaining me with your weird facial expression while you eat. you guys rock. *muah*

shoot.. that sucked that my blogger freaked out and i lost my entry. stupid. so you got the edited version. if you want to know all the gory details and what beth, sakura, norma or maritza is like in bed. just ask ;P
i've been sleeping since i've gotten back. crazy.. maybe it's the time difference? or maybe i'm just lazy. or just enjoying my bed lots :) job hunting and cleaning have taken a back seat to my soaps once again and waking up, eating, then napping is pretty much my daily routine. although today i did go out on a date with the one and only carrie chen. :) yea.. i know you're all jealous. we went to friday's (still no cute waiters.. sad) and saw charlie's angels. it wasn't as bad as i had thought, but wasn't as good as i originally anticipated. but we decided.. carrie wants to be lucy liu and i want to be mandy moore. and carrie's convinced a certain two people are getting married. haha.. we're so gay.

my trips are finally over. :( sadness... now it's time for the real world. i have to find a job so that i can a) have money and b) move out. although it is nice living at home and saving money. but it seriously drives me insane.
but lssp and icon and chicago was tons of fun. i feel like i met a lot of people, but not really cuz i don't have anyone's contact info.. so maybe it wasn't real? hahah... i'm so stupid. but hmm.. let's see. my indy recap won't live up to nicole's, but i'll try anyways.
like many others I spent all night packing, as well as working on awards. beth came over and we were going through my boxes trying to find stuff to wear. as i packed, beth stole some of my clothes. my daddy took me to the airport and when i though everything was peachy.. the southwest people wanted my free flight coupon. it was my sister's and i've never flown a free flight, so i didn't know i had to bring it. shooooot. so i had to buy a ticket.. and they tried to charge me $490.. but after the sad faces and reasoning i got the $200 flight. whew. showed up in indy and met some lssp people. got to the hotel, checked in.. showered and napped. had steak n shake for dinner... i ordered the mushroom and swiss burger.. which is NASTY. steak n shake is alright.. but never ever order that. just get a regular burger. that night had a little orientation dealio.. and then just hung out that night.
the next couple of days was full on dirtiness and service. the first day we had to clean out this old abandoned house. if my mother ever found out what i was doing, she would shoot me for not doing that kind of work in our "abandoned" garage. it was okay, kind of creepy because i got kind of sad knowing that this house used to be loved and enjoyed by someone and here we were tearing down their wall paper and stealing their $3 that we found. the next day we had to pick up trash and a pretty clean park... which sucked. cleaning up trash isn't the funnest thing.. but especially not for eight hours. and i didn't even get to go into the pool... crappy. the next day we did "njp" and picked up trash on the street with "humboldt" oh joy oh joy. we totally got shafted.. but we got to paint later at state street... so i guess it made up for it. the next day was fellowship day and we chilled in the park all day. i learned how to play skip-bo and played volleyball in the rain. i fortunately wasn't part of the massive water fight and it was pretty cool just to chill. in between all those days we just ate food (walmart chicken, homecooked spaghetti, pizza), played uno "jamaican style", visited doug the psychiatrist, and just hung out.
before icon we met up with nicole (yay!!) and after checking in to the hotel we went to the children's museum.. which was pretty cool. i'm sure it would have be fantastic if i was one of those samll screaming children. everything's always so much more impressive when you're young. but it was cool.

my friend snoopy
before opening session we ate dinner and i got to see the rest of my girls :) yay.. i missed them. steak n shake was better than the last time. don't try to get fancy at steak n shake... big mistake.

my ucsd girls

me and carrie
opening session was pretty cool. nothing too big. we watched carrie and her int'l vp voice emcee. hehehe.... and i overheard girls talking about how carrie's hair is so great. hahahaha. and then that night we had a dance. there was also ice cream, so that made it all that much better. :) we tried to run away from certain folks, and tried to get other people to dance together.. it was just fun to dance again. i'm going to miss dcon's and icon's where it's just some wholesome goodness. sort of.. haha the next day was workshops, caucus and then awards. it was a packed day.. and i did actually go to workshops. caucus was interesting and then sakura and i went to the presidential reception. we ate some good food and tried not to be super nervous. and then during awards session, we got 1st place newsletter and 2nd place scrapbook. hmm... the scrapbook one we're a little disgruntled about, and not just because we lost.. but we have our reasons. if you want to know.. ask i guess.
what a sweetheart -------------------- pat sajak and vanna white
after awards we went to the sunshine service party, the ohio toga/hugs party and then we decided out the view from the window that clubbing looked more enticing instead. so nicole, tanya, pic and i went to tiki bobs which was like tj meets girls gone wild meets whip cream. it was all very interesting and all i wanted to do was danced except i kept getting pushed to the side by a guy with a video camera trying to capture some whip cream sloppyness. the next day was house of delegates (round 1) and then caucus sessions.

what a cute couple
sakura drew some pretty fun pictures and sat through it. it's pretty exciting though.. i like being part of all the parliment junk... although it doesn't turn me on quite like it does to other people.. *ahem* carrie.. then it was the baseball game.. watched rupert throw the first pitch, ate some dinky food, and the watched the storm clouds roll in. i also fell asleep while my friends laughed, took pictures, and then ditched me. punks. the next day we slept in, except for our wake up call from rupert, and stoped by the service fair, and then house of delegates round 2. more pictures, more fun comments, and voting for ip, ivp and trustees. then it was the farewell sessions as we watched carrie bawl her eyes out and the new "good looking duo" get installed.

goodbye rupert
hahahah. after that was the dance... with big caddy daddy.. some awful cover band. i couldn't really dance to it, so we resorted to trying to dance as "white" as possible (where's pete holiday when you need him) and i collapsed a few times after laughing too hard when nicole tried to sell off carrie's half eaten food and armando's "coming out" dances.. hehehe. that night we hung out a little, but i was pretty beat and went to bed. the next day we drove to chicago and that night went to sears tower (after eating some yummy deep dish pizza... mmm....) the view was pretty cool and it was way fun. maritza, norma, sakura and i shared a room and a king size bed and then the next day went to the aquarium. the largest one in the world!!

torrance meets chicago

whoa...
saw nemo, the sea turtles, and the dolphins :) and ate really expensive food and raided the penny machines. then went to navy pier, a giant mall on a pier, all owned by mc donald's.. yay corporate america. but we rode this ginormous ferris wheel and got a great view of the city. aww... that night we went to the cubs game at wrigley field, ate chicago style hot dogs and then afterwards i had to resist the urges to ditch the group to go clubbing/bar hopping because those freak maritza and norma weren't 21. dang it. but it was all good, we went to the hotel and had a few drinks and played asshole and kings. but they're all lightweights.. so it was fun watching ryan become more whiney, beth turn super red, and shoving a drunk maggie into the pit between the bed and the wall. :) the next day i didn't wake up early and missed out on visiting the ginormous 3 story gap and we drove back to indy. but i got to drive through gary because i needed to find a gas station... it was interesting and surreal at the same time.

home sweet home

a shrine to our leaders
we all headed to the mecca of kiwanis international like the gleamy eyed circle k dorks that we are and took a tour and took all sorts of ridiculous pictures. :) then rushed off to the airport so that we didn't miss our flight.
came home, got picked up by my daddy and that was the end of my icon trip. :(
(this used to be a lot more detailed and a lot better... but it got erased, and i didn't have it in me to recreate the glory once again)
but you can see all my icon pix here off my digital camera (half of them are on my regular camera waiting to be developed)
but lssp and icon and chicago was tons of fun. i feel like i met a lot of people, but not really cuz i don't have anyone's contact info.. so maybe it wasn't real? hahah... i'm so stupid. but hmm.. let's see. my indy recap won't live up to nicole's, but i'll try anyways.
like many others I spent all night packing, as well as working on awards. beth came over and we were going through my boxes trying to find stuff to wear. as i packed, beth stole some of my clothes. my daddy took me to the airport and when i though everything was peachy.. the southwest people wanted my free flight coupon. it was my sister's and i've never flown a free flight, so i didn't know i had to bring it. shooooot. so i had to buy a ticket.. and they tried to charge me $490.. but after the sad faces and reasoning i got the $200 flight. whew. showed up in indy and met some lssp people. got to the hotel, checked in.. showered and napped. had steak n shake for dinner... i ordered the mushroom and swiss burger.. which is NASTY. steak n shake is alright.. but never ever order that. just get a regular burger. that night had a little orientation dealio.. and then just hung out that night.
the next couple of days was full on dirtiness and service. the first day we had to clean out this old abandoned house. if my mother ever found out what i was doing, she would shoot me for not doing that kind of work in our "abandoned" garage. it was okay, kind of creepy because i got kind of sad knowing that this house used to be loved and enjoyed by someone and here we were tearing down their wall paper and stealing their $3 that we found. the next day we had to pick up trash and a pretty clean park... which sucked. cleaning up trash isn't the funnest thing.. but especially not for eight hours. and i didn't even get to go into the pool... crappy. the next day we did "njp" and picked up trash on the street with "humboldt" oh joy oh joy. we totally got shafted.. but we got to paint later at state street... so i guess it made up for it. the next day was fellowship day and we chilled in the park all day. i learned how to play skip-bo and played volleyball in the rain. i fortunately wasn't part of the massive water fight and it was pretty cool just to chill. in between all those days we just ate food (walmart chicken, homecooked spaghetti, pizza), played uno "jamaican style", visited doug the psychiatrist, and just hung out.
before icon we met up with nicole (yay!!) and after checking in to the hotel we went to the children's museum.. which was pretty cool. i'm sure it would have be fantastic if i was one of those samll screaming children. everything's always so much more impressive when you're young. but it was cool.
my friend snoopy
before opening session we ate dinner and i got to see the rest of my girls :) yay.. i missed them. steak n shake was better than the last time. don't try to get fancy at steak n shake... big mistake.
my ucsd girls
me and carrie
opening session was pretty cool. nothing too big. we watched carrie and her int'l vp voice emcee. hehehe.... and i overheard girls talking about how carrie's hair is so great. hahahaha. and then that night we had a dance. there was also ice cream, so that made it all that much better.
*ahem* carrie.. then it was the baseball game.. watched rupert throw the first pitch, ate some dinky food, and the watched the storm clouds roll in. i also fell asleep while my friends laughed, took pictures, and then ditched me. punks. the next day we slept in, except for our wake up call from rupert, and stoped by the service fair, and then house of delegates round 2. more pictures, more fun comments, and voting for ip, ivp and trustees. then it was the farewell sessions as we watched carrie bawl her eyes out and the new "good looking duo" get installed.
goodbye rupert
hahahah. after that was the dance... with big caddy daddy.. some awful cover band. i couldn't really dance to it, so we resorted to trying to dance as "white" as possible (where's pete holiday when you need him) and i collapsed a few times after laughing too hard when nicole tried to sell off carrie's half eaten food and armando's "coming out" dances.. hehehe. that night we hung out a little, but i was pretty beat and went to bed. the next day we drove to chicago and that night went to sears tower (after eating some yummy deep dish pizza... mmm....) the view was pretty cool and it was way fun. maritza, norma, sakura and i shared a room and a king size bed and then the next day went to the aquarium. the largest one in the world!!

this is a quick hello from indy!! whoo hoo.. i'm home. well not really. i was born in merrillville, but now we're in indianapolis. anyhoo... lssp has been fun.. it was lots of hard work. i'll give a more detailed synopsis later. i got to meet and hang out with norma and maritza who are loads of fun... yay.. and we made tons of "new friends" :). now icon is about to start... but before that... nicole, maritza, norma, skophammer, billings, anna, stephanie halgren and i all taxied it down to the children's museum. it's lots of cool stuff to look at while trying not to crash into the kids running and screaming all around.
we're gonna catch some dinner and then opening session and then the dance... oooh yea. nicole's going to get freaky with it... that's all she can talk about. more to come later :) love you all!!
free pete.
