tonight i'm helping my mom pack. she's going to taiwan for a while. good.. she needs a vacation. as much as i am elated that i will not have the constancy of her nagging everyday, i do feel a little bit bad for feeling so happy that she will be leaving. but also i wonder what it will be like when she's not here to make me go to bed, make sure i'm up and have a good breakfast to eat. will my father and i just run amuck? and when my dad leaves will i just totally wild? or totally lame. hahah. i think the later is a huge possibility. i also felt very sad for my mom today. we've realized that my sister's wedding may be earlier than planned and so my mom is worried about being able to take some more time off again. seeing as how my sister's wedding will be in taiwan, it's not just a weekend trip (although if you really had to you could, but my mom isn't that kind of person that could handle that.) so she tried saying that she'd take off without pay, or some other stuff. and in the end she said that she might even just quit her job. which is awful. i don't know.. she was telling me over the phone today and then she said she was going to start crying. she just felt so bad and was so worried and so angry and depressed and there was nothing that i could do to help. sure i make my mom furious all the time and she yells at me for stupid crap that could probably be avoided, but somehow this situation just seems much worse. that i'm so helpless for my parents at times. her work even said that "well tell your daughter you can't be at her wedding" who says that? who doesn't want to see their first daughter get married. i dunno.. ugh.
in lighter events tonight is convention for cnh cki. it's so weird not being there and not spending so much time and effort gearing up for it. my parents have become accustomed to me being off doing cki stuff when i was supposed to be home. my dad asked me (because i said i was going to convention this weekend) that shouldn't i be leaving already? hah. not that i'm lamenting or depressed and wishing that i could be chanting "cal nev ha" or "i feel good!" but for the past four years i've spent this weekend at convention doing all that crap and it's just so odd to know that it's all happening and i'm not part of that anymore. like that first year when i wasn't in torrance youth council and there'd be spring/fall/christmas boutique (etc.) down the street from me.. i'd be like "wow i remember last year when i was at the park at 4am almost getting run over directing bratty vendors to their spaces." it's weird how something is such a big part of your life and then it's not, but it's still there. hmm.. that's probably why i'm going tomorrow. hah.. i'm such a nerd. i just have a hard time letting go of good memories i guess. (note: i don't in any shape or form wish that i was still cheering/doing awards/caucus whatever.. it was just lots of fun to hang out with good people. it was fun to have something to do :P)
yea i know. i'm lame.
as a kid, did you ever play by yourself and pretend to be multiple people? yeah.. me too.

while i'm here i might as well update. last night i went to nicole's to raid her closet and pick out something cute to wear to convention on saturday. nicole has tons o' cute clothes because she is a shopping whore and doesn't just buy all plain jane stuff because she doesn't work at the gap :P so anyways... i got treated to dinner (pepperoni pizza.. shhh.. don't tell my mom) that was cut by apparently one of the cuter guys in chino hills. you should go read that entry.. it's great. so anyways.. dinner and the apprentice .. ooOOoo. we were all jeering and laughing at the antics in the show. cheering that amy didn't get fired and that certain people are stupid. haah. and i made a few bows for the boutinere's that nicole is making for the vip/seniors for cki. i love playing with nicole's fun flower stuff! :) anyhow.. we finally got upstairs and i played fashion show in nicole's room. trying on her gazillions of dresses, although i stayed away from her french maid outfit. haha. it was fun, and i think we have a winner, but i took a few of her dresses just in case (and she thinks she's getting them back huh?) haha. but really.. thanks nicole! carlene, nicole and i had some girly chit chat and i finally left at midnight thirty trying to race home before i fell asleep. but it was a good time and worth the drive (i guuesss.. :P) thanks nicole and family!! oh what a girl won't do for a dress.

ha ha ha.
how sad... howie day got arrested.
oh lordy.. how do you get yourself into this mess? well actually.. i can assume.. but really. it makes him sound like such a scum bag! (although there were times where i have thought that he was not the nicest of all persons).. and he may be a scum bag.. but he still does sound dayam good. i got my madrigals cd and dvd and it's amazing this looping music thing he does.. a-maz-ing. but anyways.. it's a dilemma, because it's like.. why support such a jerk .. but really he just wants some lovin. he's just not so smart about it. :P i'll still love to listen to him.
poor howie day.. it's okay.. i'm sure he'll recover.. next him and britney can do something. rock stars have such hard lives :P

blah blah blah.. being sick sucks. the only bright side is that tuesday i went home from work and got to sleep all day (even though that cost me 6 hours of pay :P). but it most definitely helped me get better. :) but every once in awhile i feel as though if i can't breathe, or i'm hacking up really nasty stuff outta my throat and that's not so fun :P but yea.. hopefully i'll be all fine and dandy by saturday.
wednesday i dragged my sorry ass to work and managed to power through the day. afterwards i was supposed to hang out with beth, or sakura and hanan.. but as what always happens when i try to hang out with too many people... i spend the night hanging out with no one at all :P banana never called because they were busy finishing stuff up and beth thought i was busy so she stayed home and got sucked in by the tv. so i ended up going to this chinese doctor that my mom wanted me to go to. but it was all eastern methods and for 30 minutes i was subject to extreme forms of accupressure. i screamed and yelped because i had a low low low tolerance for pain and am a huge wuss. i felt kind of bad afterwards because my "session" was only half a hour when it was supposed to be a whole hour. my mom said it was because i was screaming too much. i hope my mom didn't have to pay the full $80. (yikes!! i know!! $80!!) so yea. i dunno.. i know that there was a ton of people who wanted to be pushed, pinched, prodded and pulled.. but i am not one of them.. sorry mommy. afterwards, i drove home and ate some leftovers, chatted on the phone and surfed the internet. fun times eh?

aww... these are pictures of my cutie patootie niece (or is she my second cousin?) this is my cousin's baby, lily. they're on the east coast, so i don't see them too often. but she's so cute.. she's three months old. and has the same birthday as my mom. funny. hahah... i can't wait until my sister has kids. :P or maybe some of my friends.. hurry up with the baby making! come on beth and ryan! (just kidding).
although this weekend i didn't get to do too much relaxing, it still felt longer than the other weekends that fly by. maybe because i was awake for more of it :P.
wednesday sakura, beth, carol and i met up with jill and manny to say goodbye to jill and have some boba. although it was the small kind and not as good (but i didn't have any, so what am i talking about.) friday night i met up with sakura and carol to have dinner at chili's. it was a good time and sakura enjoyed flirting with the waiter.. cesar. haha.. okay, maybe not flirting, but just being nice to :P she told him we'd come back later for dessert and he said he'd be waiting. haha. we were going to go watch a movie, but decided to try not to be so lame and went out instead. so off to hermosa beach it was to go bar hopping. plus we didn't want sakura to fall asleep in the movie. we went to patrick malloy's for a round of drinks, but they didn't have any music and we want to dance, so we went over to sharkeez to brave the line (yes.. i know... be quiet). but luckily we didn't have the wait in line, after like 5 minutes the bouncer came over and let us in.. i say it's because of carol.. and she didn't even have to take anything off! :P although.. before we got let in a cop came up to sakura and carol and asked them to see their ids, asked them how old they were, what years they were born and how to pronounce their names. haha.. but the police man went through some of the other people in the line, so i guess it wasn't too bad :P we drank and danced a little. we met this really drunk girl named traci who told us we were all beautiful and didn't need men and somehow her and her boyfriend (or guy she just met that night) got all three of us to dance on the platform. too funny. it was a fun little girls night out, except for the weirdos who kept trying to pour beer on us. they would hold tilted bottles of beer over our heads on the dancefloor. i had to get sakura out the way numerous times. did they think that was attractive.. once they pour beer over sakura's head she'd say "ooh baby take me" and jump on him on the dance floor and they'd have a beer soaked make-out-fest? um.. no. don't think so. guys are so stupid sometimes. they were also cat calling all over the place. guys.. that's not really attractive either.
saturday i worked and then sent my sister off to taiwan for promotion of better luck tomorrow. at the airport i hung out with karin a little bit (she's in the movie.. some of the cast was going too) and she asked me if i was going, and i wanted to just go play in taiwan for a week. shopping, eating, watching my sister and her movie star friends. too bad. next time. hopefully. sunday i worked too.. and then napped. i was feeling a little off and then went to todai with the parents to meet up with my cousin karen and her hubby ben (not the one with the baby, but her sister). yum.. i had white chocolate covered strawberries. they were amazing. cleaned my room, watched tv (hahaha.. high school reunion) and bedtime for me. i know, my life is exciting.

bye jill!!! awww.. she's going (or gone by now) to washington dc for an internship at the smithsonian institute (what a smartie!). so she's off and away to the east coast... this is a few pictures from the goodbye dinner at cafe boogaloo.
so my sister is going to taiwan for the next week or two so she's spending her birthday in taiwan (boo..) so we had an early birthday dinner for her last night. i also finished making her birthday present. a bomb ass photo board! hahah.. my sister told me to open up a craft store with my artsy fartsy friends.. and it could also be a bakery.. and on the weekends it would be a cafe because my dad would come and cook and make the best dumplings in the world. yuuummm. haha.. sounds like a good idea eh? who wants to join. beth can make jewelry, nicole can be our designer, carol can make chocolate covered strawberries and sakura can be the spokesperson. hahahah. i dunno. i always joked around wiht my dad that when he retired he could open a restaurant.. and i'd run the bakery next door. hahah.. maybe that's what i'm supposed to do instead of this "real job" crap. :P
dilemma, dilemma, dilemmas... i hate how i can never make decisions.

there's a lacrosse player from cornell who died after being hit in the chest with the ball. it's pretty scary, and very sad. not to be completely selfish, but i also thought about "wow.. that maybe could have happened to me." i wonder why exactly why he went down, like was it how he was hit? or i dunno... it must be so sad for (of course) his friends and family.. but also his teammates. and also the other team, especially the guy who threw the ball. like.. he was just trying to score and win for his school... and he ended up killing a guy. yikes. i'm sorry george boiardi.
in fluffier news...
allegedly michael vartan and jennifer garner have broken up (yay!)
and mandy and andy (moore and roddick) broke up too (boo.)

happy st. paddy's day!
wear green and pinch people who aren't.. especially if they're cute :P i heard a funny joke on kroq this morning. lisa may was announcing from advertisement for lowe's.. and this guy (maybe ralph) was like..
did you know lowe's is irish?
because they sell paddy-o furniture (patio).
hahahahah.
anyways... monday i went on a impromptu dinner date with benji. he was being all flashy about his entertainment book, so we chose a place out of there. i saw an ad for that paradise place where i always see their sign off the the freeway, but never knew quite what it was. it's a pan-asian place.. or at least it seems like it from the ad.. we didn't go there. there was also a steakhouse which sounded pretty good, but instead we went to this place called bruno's in gardena. (ghetto-dena). it was in the shadier part of town, but not the shadiest, so that's okay. it was very very empty though.. which should have been a red flag in itself. there was one other couple dining and a few people drinking beer at the bar (but i think that they were friends of the workers). i saw a sign that said the lions club met there.. so i guess it couldn't be all that bad. the food was mediocre, i think the best part was the salad and the bread. but it was all stuff i definitely could have made myself with no effort. afterwards we trotted up to ucla to get dessert.. (mmmm...diddy reese). spent a bundle on cookies and ice cream sandwiches and then went to go say hi to benji's new girlfriend. (what?! benji has a girlfriend? i know....) well not really new..but new to me. she was nice.. she kind of reminded me of shirin.. i don't quite know why. but anyways. i read the US magazine with meredith and ian on the cover... (quality reading) aww.. the bachelorette... yesterday i just did some downloading madness. i came home and plopped myself in front of the computer after work.. and didn't get up until dinner time like three hours later. haha.. oops. it's so addicting though! plus i was rippingcd's into my hard drive. and then i sort them all and transfer them to my ipod. hooray.
i watched average joe: adam returns.. i think it'll be pretty good. watching girls fight over this.. girls are drama dude. hahah. although it's not quite as endearing as watching the nerdy guys cry. he kicked of this one girl.. and she was bawling, and was so sad because she wanted to spend her life with him already. so sad. but kind of freaky. there's still another girl who is bordering on stalker too... we shall see. and his "perfect match" from computer compatibility test results got booted too... but she didn't have that great of a personality.. she doesn't mesh well with adam (who's last name is mesh.. hahah). but i do think he's still that average joe who wants the really hot chick (duh.. isn't that all guys) so i think maybe he'll pick heather in the end. that's my first week prediction. oh and they had jason come on in drag to "infiltrate" the girls to see if they were here for adam for the "right" reasons. please.. you could tell he wasn't really a girl.. he was probably making out with them all on the bus :P but oh my he is a cutie. that "i wanna be a weather man named jason storm" thing kind of ruins it a little. dude.. that would fan-fuckin-tastic if they brought melana back on to compete. i think he still wants her.
while watching tv, i also started to make my sister's birthday present. i think the first part turned out pretty well. yay! i hope it stays put... i got buy some more materials to finish it up.. and i'll post pictures (if you can even see them!!!) after i give it to her. her bday's not for another week and a half, but she's going to taiwan because better luck tomorrow is showing at a film festival there so we're gonna do an early celebration. but i was very proud of myself.. it's pretty cute so far. i'm so handy!

today i am wearing the shoes that i was wearing when i got into my car accident. this is the first time since november that i have unearthed them from my closet and let them see light and touch the pedals of my car again. they're platform sandals that i got for $6 at payless. they are uber comfy and make me tall(er) but i was very scared and wary today while i was driving. i didn't want them to catch in between the pedals, or get stuck, or make me less aware of which pedal i was pushing because of the inches of foam between me and my car. but i do feel bad for my shoes because i neglected them... so i brought them out again. it wasn't really their fault.. at least not all their fault, so their probation has been long enough. cross your fingers to make sure that that's true.
yup.. the weekend definitely went by too fast. too too toooooo fast.
friday night jeff-gu threw a surprise kind of dinner for my sister as an early bday celebration because she's going to be in taiwan on business during her bday.. but i opted for not going because i had already told jill that i would be at her thing, and i figured my sister wanted to hang out with her friends without her bratty little sister around. so i arrived late at jill's.. (sorry! the glow of my monitor was sucking me in) and drove down to hermosa with mollie, paul and jill. we finally found not to shabby parking and headed to cafe boogaloo. a place that i've always seen and walked by when in hb, but never really noticed and went in.. so we were all like.. "oh yea.. we've seen this place before" it was a $10 cover which we were planning on getting back by leaving before the live band came on (which didn't happen :P) and ate all sorts of cajun food. some more cajuney than others (catfish po' boys and gumbo and jambalaya vs. tri-tip sandwiches and hamburgers). but it was all pretty good... i spent like $40 total that night. and then afterwards.. the loser tired people went home :P and the troopers (me, jill, beth and ryan) headed over to 501 to karaoke. i've lived in torrance forever and never knew about this 501 place. never have been there, let alone heard of it until recently. but it was pretty cool, they had a good selection of songs and we all sang to our hearts content.. the remedy. (haha.. yup.. jason mraz has made it to karaoke), high hopes (such a cute song!), tiffany, janet jackson, black eyed peas, incubus... randomness. i would load pix.. but a) i haven't taken them outta the camera yet and b) they probably wouldn't show up anyways.. (grr.)
saturday i had to work at el gap-o. not too bad, it wasn't too early and only for a few hours. very chill and i got my job done. came home and rested, napped, watched tivo. my new obsession (i can already tell) is going to be Playing it Straight. the newest show in reality dating specials where this one girl has to pick from a group of guys.. where some of them are straight and some of them are gay. and you think that you'd be able to tell.. but there are some femme straight guys and macho gay guys. the two guys she kicked off in the first episode were both straight! hmm.. it seems like it'll be pretty good though. except i saw a preview for one episode and these guys are arm wrestling and one guy's arm just snaps.. ewww... that's going to be crazy to watch. it's supposed to be good because it's going to dispell stereotypes and all the good junk and if she picks a gay guy in the end... we'll see how the drama unfolds :P tonight is also the premiere of AJ: Adam Returns.. oooohhh.. hehehe. i love tv.
i finally moved my desk up to my room and can begin phase 2 of unpacking from san diego. :P the job i applied at fox i think has already been filled and i didn't even get a phone call :( despite in-person references by my old boss. so i told him i'd go intern for him for free, and he seemed to like that. it would be fun to do that again.. maybe i'd meet a rock star and fall in love. hahah. at least that's a back up plan. saturday, instead of going out with jill for her last weekend in la celebration (awww.. don't leave jill!) i was supposed to go out with erika to this concert/mtv promo thing for one of her many rockstar friends.. but we ended up not going because we didn't want to get all skankified for the dance club that was happening afterwards. so we ended up just hanging out at her very nice house with her very cute kitties and very nice collection of music ;) we made a 7-11 and i realized just how much erika goes to there.. the guys who work there know her and have stuff she wants ready when we get there :P we got slurpees and big gulps and she won a free itunes song (i lost.. boo)
sunday was a little bit of shopping, some music stuff, re-setting up the ipod, chattin on the phone, sleeping, lunch with the parents at souplantation (oh how my parents love that place). it was a pretty okay weekend.
friday night jeff-gu threw a surprise kind of dinner for my sister as an early bday celebration because she's going to be in taiwan on business during her bday.. but i opted for not going because i had already told jill that i would be at her thing, and i figured my sister wanted to hang out with her friends without her bratty little sister around. so i arrived late at jill's.. sunday was a little bit of shopping, some music stuff, re-setting up the ipod, chattin on the phone, sleeping, lunch with the parents at souplantation (oh how my parents love that place). it was a pretty okay weekend.

yay it's friday!!! soooo excited. except the weekend seems to go by so quickly. boo.. soon enough monday will be here and i will be sad. so anyways..
alice is the big 2-1, so i'm sure she got real toasty last night. haahha. just kidding.. she saved that until this weekend :P now that she's mastered the art of winning amateur lap dance contests, she can move on to other talents.
real quickly before i go home.. (whoo hoo!) wednesday i went on this huge crazy buying spree and bought all the matt nathanson cd's i didn't already have. one of his albums on his website, and then i wanted the plus cd that came free with his new album, but you can only get those at cims stores. so i dragged beth along to footprints in long beach, which is pretty similar to lou's records in encinitas. lots of indie stuff, very fun. beth groaned all the way there, but really enjoyed it once she was inside. she's crazy because she thinks that i drag her along to all these places she's never heard of just so that i'll have company, but really i make her go because i think she'll enjoy it too. sometimes i'm wrong, but i was right on wednesday night. beth really enjoyed the 2nd street scene.. but too bad we got there too late for us to really shop around. we drove back to torrance to try and make it to joanne's so i could get some fabric for my new project.. so we just had dinner instead at the cho dang tofu place. my mom was jealous that i went without her. :P
thursday i opted to stay home and just watched tv, cooked, and chatted on the phone. i was going to bake a cake for a co-worker's bday.. but i realized that i didn't have cake mix, and then tried to find the recipes for making cake from scratch, but realized that i didn't have all the necessary ingredients, so oh well. no cake. so instead this morning i trekked over to the non-strike ralphs (where they are hiring county clerks.. hmm.. maybe i should apply :P) and bought balloons from a lame-o who was nice but couldn't curl ribbon or arrange balloons for the life of him. and bought a cake and some writing gel. today everyone went to claim jumper's for lunch. it was cool.. (even though i had gone on monday) except i didn't like the way they split up the bill. they took the final bill and just split it amongst the amount of people there (minus birthday boy). it just sucks because i ended up paying way more than i should have and some people obviously paid less. my meal was $10 and i ended spending $20.. boo. i mean.. with the 17% large group gratuity and paying for part of the birthday meal it was only a few dollars.. but still.. oh well.. it was a good time, and then we had cake afterwards.
tonight time for playing. yay! i love weekends.
happy birthday alice!
yesterday.. sorry i didn't post earlier!

so i jumped on the bandwagon and took a quiz to find your spot. it's seemed pretty interesting to see where this internet quiz thinks you should live. hell i take all sorts of internet quizzes to tell me what kind of love i am and what my personality is like.. (i'm a window shopper btw). so anyways... here's one more.

my gosh i am tired. i came into work a hour earlier, and boy does that hour make a huge difference. i am dragging ass today.. i'm going to starbucks in 20 minutes.. i didn't go this morning because i wanted to try and make it without it, but i don't know if i can last until 5pm. ugh.
and everyone was complaining about how burning hot it was, well, today it's freezing and foggy. the heck is up with that? it's the complete opposite. yesterday i was dying in my skirt and tank top, and today i'm wearing a wool coat. oh well. good thing i didn't sleep with my windows open.
so i still don't know what's upwith the pictures.. i don't know if it's the imagestation or the blog that has the problem. maybe there are too many pictures? i dunno. i'd do photobucket as philly suggested, but i'm to much of a lazy to transfer all my pictures over. boo. hopefully the picture issue resolves itself soon. if you want to see my pictures other wise you can find it here. some of them if you right click and click show picture some of them will come up. others.. i don't know.
monday i was going to go work out.. that always seems to be the plan .. that i say i'm gonna go to the gym, and then end up not going. oops. this time it wasn't completely my fault. hahah.. i was talking to jill about going to the gym when vivian called to see if i wanted to accompany her to costa mesa so that she could buy a pair of shoes. that's right a pair of shoes. in costa mesa. i guess.. whatever i didn't have to drive and i made vivian buy me dinner. hah. i'm such a selfish friend :P well.. she didn't even end up buying the stinking shoes cuz they looked funny when she had them on.. which i guess it the point of going to costa mesa. after shopping a little bit more we ended up at claim jumper's for dinner. i got pasta which is still in my fridge.. it's like 4 meals! and afterwards we got a cookie for dessert, which they heated up and put chocolate and caramel on it. it was sooooo good. except us being snotty little brats asked the waiter to heat it up some more (because it was cold) and then 20 seconds later we wanted ice cream because it would taste so much better with ice cream. yum. nice waiter gave it to us for free. heehhe nice. it wasn't quite as good as a pizookie because it wasn't as smooshy.. but still quite faboo.
yesterday i ended up going to see matty nay. i hung out with lisa and kelly who came up from sd, and it was good to chat with them again. they are funny girls. and i hung out with erika and her friends. they're all so crazy.. i miss the kind of life. haha. i was a little scared that there wouldn't be any tickets left, but thankfully everyone waited until to get their tickets. i guess everyone else hates ticketmaster like me. but i guess they had only sold a few ticket before, probably like 50 or so like he was commenting about how they thought he would only be playing to like 10 people. haha.
not from last night, but from the roxy, but still a goodie.
but it was a fairly good size crowd. i sat kind far away.. up in the balcony, which wasn't really far, because the troubadour is fairly small, but it definitely is a different vibe than the floor. i guess next time i will tough it out and stand on the floor close up. at the roxy i was on the floor, but i think it was still a different feeling. hmm.. he plays with a cello player, matt fish, he is AWESOME. i think he adds so much to the sound and his solos are amazing. it's a really good combo, they need to have a cd with just the two of them :P check out matt nathanson :)
i've been sooo tired lately. it's weird. for the past two nights after i've come home i've been so tired i can barely walk up the stairs. i guess that's good because i go to bed earlier than i normally would. i really need to sit down and help clean our house. organize my room, finish unpacking my boxes from san diego, put a desk in my room, clean all the other crap in my house. (pete and nicole, you guys are good cleaners.. come help!) my family is going to go on vacation soon, so i feel like i want to get it all done before they go .. but there's just so much to be done! maybe this weekend i'll be good and actually do stuff. hah.. isn't that what i say every weekend? argh...

so i wanted to share some funny things that nicole said... i thought that she would put them in her blogger, but she hasn't.. so i just want to put them here so i can look back and read them and laugh at myself. that's right.. at myself, because nicole is funny, but she's also mean.. :P so i probably shouldn't write them because i'm making myself look stupid, but hey.. it's never stopped me before.
while me and nicole were at rent:
me: you know.. these RENTheads are kind of crazy, they travel all over to get these rush tickets, and they all know each other from going to so many shows, and talk about all the different casts...
nicole: yea.. like you and your mraz friends?
while at starbucks late one night talking about jobs:
jean: so my parents want me to go back to taiwan and teach english.
nicole: and all the little chinese kids will come out speaking valley girl.
what a bitch. LOVE YOU!!! *muah*

my appeal for my two seconds two late parking ticket was rejected. fuck.. i hate parking tickets.
i also hate that my pictures are acting all weird. today when i first looked at it everything was fine.. so i thought "hey.. everything's back to normal now." but booo.. they're all funktified now. sucks suck sucks. what the heck is wrong.. they show up on my imagestation just fine. and this ipod is being weird and not working. ugh. i should have went to bed two hours ago.

hellloooooo..... i feel a little silly tonight.. i don't know why.. maybe something was in the mcdonalds i ate.. my stomach has been a little woozy too. blah blah blah...
friday i went to go work on my trailer for the behind the scenes of my sister's new short films. they're pretty cool.. check out the website! i really like how it's designed. my sister's co. gave the 5 different filmmakers $4500 to makes a short about ipod (a central concept) and four months or so. so it's pretty neat. www.cherryskyfilms.com shortly my trailer should be uploaded to the site, so that will be exciting... i've been working on it since like last year in the fall or so.. october. i mean.. it didn't take that long, and i stopped working on it here and there.. so i finally got it finished. and the ends a little cheesy i think, but my sister likes it, so i guess that's good enough. :) i'll let ya'll know when you can view my handywork.
i was working til late on friday, but i didn't finish so i spent the night at my sisters so i wouldn't have drive back the next morning.. yay sister slumberparty! and her roomie mike had some friends over so we joined them for playing scattergories.. such a fun game. didn't end up getting to bed until 4:30.. so much for getting some rest :P woke up semi-early.. haha.. 10am.. finished up my trailer and had lunch with the family and jeff-gu who came back from taiwan. we ate at champagne french bakery.. soooo good and they have awesome desserts. yum yum yum. (i'm such a piggy). afterwards, did some last minute video stuff, drove home to shower, change and go back to the screening party for the shorts. it was at this club called orchid in k-town. i thought it would be all fobby, but it was kind of cool. there was water running down the walls on the sides, and had a very cute decor. none of my worthless friends could come (you suck! :P) so i just tagged along and hung out with my sister's friends.. but a ton of them are really cool and way nice and alcohol always helps :P. there were a few actors from BLT in the shorts, so they were there.. :) all the girlies would have liked to hang out with sung and all the boys would have loved karin. haha. one of the girls from real world (kendal) was in one of the shorts too.. (but not at the party), but that would have been fun if she was. so anyways.. it was a good time, there was yummy food, cool water bottles, free drink tickets, viewing the shorts fun, and nifty karaoke afterwards. i had a really good time.. thanks joan!
today i got called in to work at the gap.. which isn't so bad i guess. i got really tired towards the end of the night, but i liked who i was working with so it was all good. :) extra money i guess. before that i headed out with sakura to michael's to pick up some crafty stuff for my sister's birthday present and got some jamba juice because it was SO freaking hot today. some lady said it was above 90 degrees today! i guess i was glad that i was in the air conditined mall. tonight i am all about resting my feet.
this weekend kroq was having a flashback weekend.. but to the 90's! yikes.. i felt soo weird listening to songs from high school and they were "flashbacks" i mean.. it makes sense and all it was like a little under 10 years ago.. but flashback!? craaaazy

funny.. i heard jason pullman and lisa fox on star 98.7 talking about AJ2: Hawaii finale too.. they were pretty enraged too. and pete posted about it.. which i found pretty funny, because i usually think no one watches nonsense like this except me.. especially him. hahahah.. see.. it's not just me. :P
tuesday i went to my sister's edit my behind the scenes trailer for the skypod shorts.. but got no work done (as usual) because angelee called me and we ended up talking forever .. well not forever because my cell ran out of batteries, but about 30 minutes before i was supposed to pick beth up (from ryan's) to go back home. damn.. oh well.. i have tomorrow to finish.. which works out well for beth because we're carpooling up there so she can spend her time with her ball and chain :P it's really all about beth isn't it?
yesterday beth, jill and i went to go be "hair models" haha.. yup.. we're models dammit. we went to fred segal, where they have the assistants who are training to be full fledged over priced hair stylists find unwitting guinea pigs to practice on for $10. it wasn't too bad, although the lady next to me was not too happy. glad i wasn't her. so the three of us met up and carpooled up to los angeles and shopped around in the equally over-priced store of fred segal of $245 sweaters, $20 bead necklaces, and charm bracelet charms that were $2.50 a gram. haha. we were expecting to get a "consultation" and then come back later for an actual hair cutting, but while i was sitting in the waiting area while wondering where beth and jill were, a hairstylist grabbed me and asked if she could cut my hair and i was like.. "sure" apparently her modeled bailed out.. so i lucked out. also.. the catch is that they learn certain hairstyles and certain times and so you have to get your hair cut for the style that the person is learning. also, today was test day.. so there was extra tension (but also more reason for them to do a better job). i lucked out because this week was the "layers test" so they had already spent 6 weeks practicing, and i wanted layers anyways.
yay! so i felt bad that jill and beth weren't getting their hair cut and they had to wait for my sorry ass, but the lady who was cutting jill's hair's model bailed out and so jill got her hair cut too.. sorry beth! i think the people that cut mine and jill's hair were the two best people in the program.. or we just have good hair, haha.. just kidding. but really.. i was pretty happy with my hair overall.. except they style it all nice, so you're all excited when you leave and now it's just blah. haha.. but it was a good time.. yay!
afterwards we caught some dinner at hurry curry because jill wanted to try it before she treks off to the other side of the country. and then we drove back to meet up with nicole at starbucks so she could borrow my snowboarding gloves for her oh-so-exciting-i-wish-i-was-going trip. fun! except i wasn't really paying attention and i got pretty lost and turned around going the wrong directions and "taking the scenic route" sorry girls. but it's all gravy because we're all safe and sound :) it was fun times hanging out .. thanks girlies!
i also finally put up pictures from valentine's day, exciting!! pictures from the waffles.. we rock, and our adventures :) check em out if you care.

yay! so i felt bad that jill and beth weren't getting their hair cut and they had to wait for my sorry ass, but the lady who was cutting jill's hair's model bailed out and so jill got her hair cut too.. sorry beth! i think the people that cut mine and jill's hair were the two best people in the program.. or we just have good hair, haha.. just kidding. but really.. i was pretty happy with my hair overall.. except they style it all nice, so you're all excited when you leave and now it's just blah. haha.. but it was a good time.. yay!
afterwards we caught some dinner at hurry curry because jill wanted to try it before she treks off to the other side of the country. and then we drove back to meet up with nicole at starbucks so she could borrow my snowboarding gloves for her oh-so-exciting-i-wish-i-was-going trip. fun! except i wasn't really paying attention and i got pretty lost and turned around going the wrong directions and "taking the scenic route" sorry girls. but it's all gravy because we're all safe and sound :) it was fun times hanging out .. thanks girlies!
i also finally put up pictures from valentine's day, exciting!! pictures from the waffles.. we rock, and our adventures :) check em out if you care.

throw rocks at boys - and don't forget to aim!
not too much going on.. one quick blog about average joe 2 hawaii. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! before i thought she would pick jim.. but apparently they showed him getting rejected before the finale (even though it happened at the same time) because he didn't have enough personality for larissa (uh huh..) so it was between gil and brian w (the joe) and for a moment i thought she might actually pick brian w. but no.. she had to "go with her heart" and broke little brian's heart into a gazillion pieces. poor joe. so again... what was the point of this show? this time the "beauty" has a HUGE secret.. huge i tell you. haha.. so they showed gil and larissa's free trip to cabo.. and towards the end she shared her big secret... she used to date fabio! what a shocking secret! hahahahha.. i was like.. are you serious? but apparently it was too much for gil to handle and he stomped around the beach, kicking the water and could not handle that she used to date mr. i can't believe it's not butter. and then he left the next day saying that any man in america would be able to understand his position. umm.. i guess.. it made for mediocre television, but it was highly laughable and entertaining. i laugh because it's stupid. but maybe i'm just stupid for watching it :P gotta hand it to those advertising folks, they do a good job of making you want to know.. when the secret is.. fabio. reality tv rocks.. can't wait for average joe 3... the return of adam! hahahahha...

happy leap year folks! it's that extra day of the year.. yay feb 29th. this girl in circle k's birthday was on feb 29th.. that must be pretty interesting. i think today is a pretty neat day. (yeah.. i'm easily amused).
so working at 5am blows. there are a few redeeming qualities.. lunch seems to come earlier (you take it at 10am.. before the mall even opens), you get to work for 5 or so hours without having to worry about customers who want this, that and everything else, and you get off by 2pm when you'd normally be starting your day anyways. so i guess after you get up and go it's not so bad.. it's just starting off is that hard part. now i'm a little tired too, and my feet hurt like no other.. but i get to rest and hey.. i'll have good sleep tonight!
today we were supposed to have our last softball game, but 4 guys on our team are doing fantasy baseball draft (boo..) and jill is in san diego (boo..) so we had to forfeit (booo...) i'm so bummed! no more softball until summer or something. i totally miss it already.. our last game is supposed to start in half a hour, i kinda just want to go to the field and just sit there or something. so sad... i'll miss it.. it was definitely good times. waffles, i'll miss you.
instead... the oscars are going on.. i drove by hollywood and highland last week and it was pretty cool to see the stuff getting set up. we're so close, but also yet so far away.. how fun would it be to walk on the red carpet and go to the parties... one day :P but it's exciting to watch... we're supposed to have a mini oscar party at beth's.. more like just me and her and maybe sakura watching it together so we don't seem so lonely and loserish. but it's a special occasion.. i even got a costco chicken for it, it's that exciting. :)

my new tivo has made me such a homebody... all i want to do is lay on my bed and watch tv. no wonder i'm such a lazy ass. but tv watching has become that much more exciting... i'm such a freak. thursday when "the bachelorette: after the final rose", "friends", and "my big fat obnoxious fiancee" were all on, i tivo'ed one, recorded on vcr the other and watched one (while still flipping channels between all three). insane huh.. i watch entirely waaay too much tv. but it's all so good!
so aside from all my tv watching there hasn't really been much that i've been doing. i didn't actually get to work at banana because their visit was cancelled so they didn't need the extra help, so because my manager felt bad she had me work a few hours (which i actually would have been fine with just going home.. but hey.. extra money never hurts). so i worked for a few hours and ended up buying like $90 worth of clothes.. at a discount, but still.. i spent $90 for working a three hour shift.. umm.. right. no wonder i don't save any money. :P whippin' out that plastic is just so convinient though.. curse credit cards! (no just kidding.. i love you!).
tonight was family bonding time.. it was nice.. i like when everyone's happy and together.. and as we get older it's a rarer and rarer occurrence. but it was fun, did some perusing at costco. my sister got these pictures from her motion camera developed... there was this really funny picture of when my sister had me run through the snow at sundance and i fell. it's pretty hilarious. we ate dinner at el tarasco .. it was sooo yummy. and it was back home to my lovely tv. :P
so.. the bachelorette, meredith, didn't pick matt.. she picked ian!! crazy.. i think he kind of looks like ben stiller.. haha. the finale was soooo cute and made you so want that to happen to you. i almost started getting weepy eyed and i'm so not a cryer. but seriously.. if i was to ever get engaged on a reality tv show, that's how i'd want it to be. in the after the rose ceremony matt was still pretty pissed off... poor him. so sad. :( but.. the good news is that now that i'm officially hooked to the bachelor(ette) saga... the new bachelor is quite possible the hottest ever (gasp.. even hotter than andrew firestone.. is that possible?) this nfl quarterback jesse palmer is hoTT. i want him. not like i really even have a chance, but i like to dream.. i mean.. he's only 25.. but he also had 24 probably equally hot women throwing themselves at him. but he's good enough reason to drool all over my tv. sorry i'm getting carried away, but oh mylanta!
speaking of hotness i also got the jc chasez cd today too. haha.. yes.. i feel a little bit like a big dork, but i gotta love those boys... and jc is my favorite. in a few years when boy bands have gone into hiding again, i'll be embarassed that i loved him so much, like how i would defiantly deny that i loved donnie wahlberg when my sister would make fun of me. yup.. i was a donnie fan.. none of that sissy joey mcintyre crap :P i may love jt.. but jc is my fav. i'm not shamed to admit it... for now.

just thought i'd update quickly... i'm trying to leave work early because i just got called in to go help out at banana.. so i want to go home to rest up, but i feel bad leaving early.. but i didn't take a lunch! so maybe i'll leave like 1/2 hour early after i finish all my work :) i'm a little scared about going to br to work, just because everything is so perfect, and they're getting a visit, so it'll have to be uber perfect... i feel like i won't be good enough. but anyways.
today is the hump day.. and i really just wanted to stay home and hu- i mean sleep :P it's probably bad when every morning you wake up and think about calling in sick just because you don't want to go. how am i going to ever survive in the real world?! yikes.
monday was a lot of driving. i drove up to burbank (third time in the past few days) for an interview (eh.) and afterwards met up with vivian in la for a belated birthday dinner :P really it was just an excuse to hang out, but hey- whatever works. it worked out well because i left burbank by the time i got a hold of her and she was still in century city (where she works). i drove down sepulveda instead of taking the 405.. which was fun, driving down long streets and hills with curvy streets. there were a few stop lights that were out, and i just sped through them thinking they were out on purpose so that it wouldn't slow traffic down. but then after a few more i realized it was kind of dark... so maybe power was out? and i had sped through all those dark lights... oops. luckily i didn't really see opposing traffic, but yikes.. it's scary to think what if. we met up at my sister's and had talay thai (my recent obsession). we had this coupon for buy 3 get 1 free.. it was a LOT of food. i also got my to borrow my sister's ipod.. whoo hoo. i love new toys. i haven't had a chance to really play with it yet. oh yea :P
last night it was me and beth hang out night. we went to pf chang's, beth's fav place. we always say how we're going to go there, but never do, so finally we went to go get yummy chicken lettuce wraps. beth was salivating the whole way :P we had to wait, so we went to the golf store to pass the time. playing with clubs and putters and wedges we knew nothing about.. finally we found this snowglobe of a ball and a tee and you were supposed to try and get the ball on to the tee. that thing is hard. but quite entertaining... that's everyone's new christmas gift! i could easily play with that thing for days (because that's how long it would take me to get the ball on the tee). i came close a few times, but it'd always just fall right off. argh. afterwards we drove around, shopped at old navy, tried to go to the closed trader joe's and finally settled on going to coldstone's. the closest one being in hermosa, we realized it was fat tuesday and decided to look at what was going on in the local party places. (still avoiding sharkeez like the plague) we finally found parking, went to fat fish fenner's, then beth wanted to hit up the treasure chest, your everyday cheesy souvenir shop. it was filled with all sorts of good stuff, including beth's new awesome star jewelry.. so pretty! and new flower necklace, and my new dolphin ate a dolphin keychain. huh? yea.. it's a clean plastic dolphin with a smaller dolphin figurine inside with water. so it's supposed to be cute, but it's just kind of freaky to me. it's like what dolphin eats other dolphins?! we laughed so hard, the store owner must have thought we were crazy.. or drunk. but we weren't... (not drunk anyways). it was good time. we got ice cream, went to the open mic at tj charlyz and back to my house to peruse pictures and watch the littlest groom... (grr.. my sister's season passes overrode my average joe recording.. DANG IT). anyhow.. i had a lot of fun last night.. thanks beth!
the bachelorette's on tonight.. i think she's gonna pick matt.
a few more minutes and then i can hopefully slink outta here.

i keep meaning to update, but it just wasn't happening.. oops my bad. not like there's anything too interesting to read. oh.. and i think i was waiting on some pictures to update with.. so there.. that's my excuse.
hmm... it's been a pretty interesting few days, interesting to me, maybe not necessarily to you. but nonetheless. friday feb 13th was spent at a pre-valentine's day/yay you got a job/thanks for making my calendar dinner with me and sakura. we had been planning to go to black angus for awhile because we just wanted to go out and eat and i had a coupon... but i had lost the coupon, but it's alright because it came to the same amount anyways.. well actually, we didn't get chocolate cake but we were too stuffed by the end to eat anymore anyways. our waiter was pretty amusing, he kept making wise cracks about "if you need anything, let me know... i'll be here all night" in his "i hate work" voice. :) but he was nice. afterwards we opted not to go party it up with the extreme wild child, nicole, and caught an almost empty showing of miracle instead. loved that movie.. it was so good :) it kind of was like the mighty ducks, but awesome as well. the entire theatre was all empty... when we walked up there was no line, and like 4 people in the theater.. very pelicular for a friday night. where did all the ghetto people who like to hang out at the galleria go?
saturday.. happy valentine's day! it was a family day.. we were each other's valentines.. awwww... my sister came home and she and my mom went shopping and returning (our family's favorite activity) and i ran errands and my sick father stayed home to rest. that night i baked cupcakes and we watched our T3 illegal dvd where you see people walking in late.. hahah. i stayed up way late to frost my cookies and cupcakes but i think they were so cute.. so :) yay. i had a very nice and fun valentine's day.
sunday i was supposed to spend time with the family, but didn't get to.. boo. i woke up to meet carrie at breakfast with the kettle.. after which i ran to my car to find stupid parking meter police man just finishing putting a ticket on my car. dang it dang it dang it. ugh.. i hate that. he was like "sorry.. if you had stopped me while i was writing it" and my reply was "i was waiting at the stoplight to cross the street" to which he replied "sorry." ugh. i contested it and we'll just have to wait. boo boo boo. i frikkin hate parking tickets! i went home to rest a little bit and then in was off to our second to last game. :( we played the best team in the league, but they're really nice and aren't big 'ol jerks and just like to play for the fun of it (but they've kicked everyone's ass without even trying.. so i'm sure it's lots of fun for them). everyone hits well on their team.. some of their girls hit better than out guys.. hahah. it was all gravy until halfway through the game one of the many huge huge dudes on their team hit a line drive right to me. unfortunately i had no time to react and i took a shot straight to the chest.. more specifically my left boob. i only mention it because jill has already kindly announced it to everyone. but anyhow.. i kneeled down to the ground and held my breath to try to stop myself from crying so i wouldn't look too ridiculously girly but people thought that i had gotten the wind knocked out of me. people told me to lay down and i could only think "but i'm wearing a white shirt!" and everyone tried to ask me where i got hit and where it hurts and if i had got any of my glove on it.. which i just replied.. it hurts everywhere. hahah. finally few ice packs later, we all decided the team should continue playing and i sat on the sidelines to ice my boob. jill also got banged in the shin from the ball earlier in the game so we had matching welts, it's cute. the other team offered me a beer and the other guy felt really bad. i felt bad that he felt bad because i know he didn't do it on purpose. but i'm sure he's over it. at least i hope. i really like that team. afterwards we ate at the elephant bar (mm... creme brulee) and then to ryan's for sex in the city and poker. good times.
jean: my boob's all red and it hurts. soon it'll be all black and blue
jill: well you can't show your boobs to anyone then
jean: damn. how am i gonna make my money?
president's day.. i had to work booo.. it seems like almost the whole world had it off.. but work was okay, i went home to eat lunch with my parents and after work i just watched tv. it was the fat suit episode of average joe 2. not quite as exciting as last seasons, but still okay. tonight is going to be pretty sad because they set up fredo to spy on a date where they knew that she'd be making out with hottie jim. sad. i think the girl's gonna pick the hot guy again this season. so what's the point of this show?
tuesday/wednesday i decided to ditch work to work on "who wants to marry my dad? 2" heheheheh. it was pretty cool.. so thursday, friday and saturday i spent with one of the contestants of the show. good thing she wasn't a crazy psycho because i had to spend a lot of time with her. i like her.. i hope she wins! she reminded me of kimmy. hahah. but it was very interesting to see some of the behind the scenes stuff, and be around the studios.. sigh.. if only it was a full time gig. the only thing is that working on production, there is such instability because once one production ends you have to find a new one. so that's where the who ya know/what do you do aspect pops up. that's why i want to work in the production office. haha. anyhow.. i spent all my time eating, sleeping and watching tv. even more than usual. (no comments) sunday i got to see the house they're filming at, it's nice and pretty big. it was starting to rain, so good things i had my sneakers in my trunk cuz i only had flip flops. got to eat the catered food that the reality stars were eating.. haha. and then it was on my way back to torrance to get ready for my hot date with sakura to the dunlap gala that night. like an idiot i took the 405 instead of the 110 to come home, and the rain was murder of the freeway. the traffic was sooooooo bad, it took me almost 2 hours to get home. ugh. got ready, and then drove back up north to burbank for the dinner. in usual fashion sakura and i were late and we got lost. hahahah. we still got our free dinner, parting gift, and lost $20 in the raffle. but there was some good entertainment from the kiwanians. we tried to steer clear of a few people.. or rather person. haaha. it was a little odd to be one of few sponsored youth at this thing... we sat with carrie and irene and we all tried to make conversation with the 2 kiwanis couples at the table... they were really nice though. we ate, said hi to a few of the people we could recognize and didn't stay for the door prize raffle. damn.. sakura wanted the little froggie toys for her kids. oh well. nicole called and from her friend's friend's art show thingymajigy, and since it was nearby we decided to stop on in. too bad i got the friggin' wrong directions and drove the wrong way on the freeway for like 20 minutes before we realized it was the wrong way. tip: consult a map before you go.. even if you have directions from someone. seems simple enough right? maybe i'm just retarded. we finally got there and drank a little, danced some, looked at art in the dark. sakura was drunk to the point where everything was funny (although she only had like 1.5 drinks.. pretty strong though). she laughed for about 5 mintues about the pizza place next to the pizza hut next to the video hut. huh? sure. drove home in the rain.. it was coming down pretty hard. it was a little scary.. but got back safe and sound. slept in late yesterday.. sleep is glorious :) went to csudh for the metro v-ball tourney at salamanca's request. i went for an hour and chit chatted, saw some people i haven't seen in a long time - salamanca, linda, billings.. yay :) i'm not sad the cki isn't my whole life anymore, but it's so weird that that's what connected you to so many people, and now your life just isn't the same. hahah. like how nicole really wanted to go to convention so she have a reason to get dressed up and go out. after winter formals and dances were no more cki gave us something to gather and celebrate for.. and now you just gotta wait for stuff like weddings or really special birthdays (or funerals.. but that's not so happy). i dunno.. beth says that it'll be better once we all have our own houses and don't all live at home, then we can invite people over and have dinner parties, and crap like that. :P we'll have dress up and come over night just for nicole :). i'll put on my own award ceremony and we'll win first in scrapbook everytime dammit! :P did a little shopping and then waited to see if we had to play softball. sadly it was rained out but jill and i still ventured out to ryan's apartment to hang out with beth, ryan and jason to watch sex in the city and the final farewell. awww.. my sissy-poo and her friend lindy came over too :) beth cooked dinner and made yummerific cookies. thanks honey! watched the simpsons and some other programs and then went to joan's to watch snl, the sag awards and pick up my new/old tivo. oh yes.. i am the proud owner of a tivo.. hand me downs are great. haha.. i may not have always necessarily thought, living a life of hand me downs as the little sister.. but this one rocks. and it has a lifetime subscription on it too. whoooooooo... too bad the reception is fuzzy from my spectacular rabbit ears. but the excitement of tivo makes me pee a little in my pants. just kidding. but i am really excited. my sister's also going to let me borrow and ipod too.. so i can try it on for size before i decide if i want a regular or mini. fun fun fun.. i love new toys :) i spent awhile setting up the tivo and set some stuff to record tonight. i love tivo.
i have an interview today.. wish me luck.

hmm... it's been a pretty interesting few days, interesting to me, maybe not necessarily to you. but nonetheless. friday feb 13th was spent at a pre-valentine's day/yay you got a job/thanks for making my calendar dinner with me and sakura. we had been planning to go to black angus for awhile because we just wanted to go out and eat and i had a coupon... but i had lost the coupon, but it's alright because it came to the same amount anyways.. well actually, we didn't get chocolate cake but we were too stuffed by the end to eat anymore anyways. our waiter was pretty amusing, he kept making wise cracks about "if you need anything, let me know... i'll be here all night" in his "i hate work" voice.
:P did a little shopping and then waited to see if we had to play softball. sadly it was rained out but jill and i still ventured out to ryan's apartment to hang out with beth, ryan and jason to watch sex in the city and the final farewell. awww.. my sissy-poo and her friend lindy came over too :) beth cooked dinner and made yummerific cookies. thanks honey! watched the simpsons and some other programs and then went to joan's to watch snl, the sag awards and pick up my new/old tivo. oh yes.. i am the proud owner of a tivo.. hand me downs are great. haha.. i may not have always necessarily thought, living a life of hand me downs as the little sister.. but this one rocks. and it has a lifetime subscription on it too. whoooooooo... too bad the reception is fuzzy from my spectacular rabbit ears. but the excitement of tivo makes me pee a little in my pants. just kidding. but i am really excited. my sister's also going to let me borrow and ipod too.. so i can try it on for size before i decide if i want a regular or mini. fun fun fun.. i love new toys :) i spent awhile setting up the tivo and set some stuff to record tonight. i love tivo.
i have an interview today.. wish me luck.
oh yea.. because i was a bad updater

so it's the saddest breakup of all.. Barbie and Ken have broken up. and right before valentine's day too... what the heck. i don't really think it's them.. they don't want to break up, it's their "parents" giant money whores. they don't want ken and barbie together... they're trying to bring in some australian hunk and a new tanner hoochier california barbie (complete with hoop earings). what are they trying to say about california girls?! we're not homewreckers, girls who steal other girls (or other version of themselves') boyfriends... umm... right? and besides... austrailian boogie boarder blaine? how would he look different, is he going to have an austrailian accent? cuz that's the only way i can tell that austrailians are different, certainly not by their looks. i'm gonna protest, long live ken and barbie.
happy friday the 13th! i totally forgot, and the people reminded me. are you supposed to wear something? or just not step on cracks and break mirrors. can you still snort crack (har har har) and watch out for black cats too. good thing i got right of mine awhile ago.
anyhow, i think i may be celebrating an early valentine's day because all my dates have plans tomorrow, so i get the pseudo date tonight. tomorrow i'll spend at home, probably with my parents (unless they go out with their friends too) baking cupcakes... maybe i'll rent some movies :) it'll be good. in the words of the mormon real worlder julie "you don't need to have a lover, just love" and i've got that :)
wednesday i hung out with beth after i finally called her. i was waiting for her to call .. what a flake :P but it was karma because we didn't get to go to her favorite restaurant for dinner because it was too late. we argued about reality television, watched the end of america's next top model, then ate and chatted. (so much for not eating out and spending money huh?) but hanging out with beth is always fun. she always tells me funny stories, and has the best reactions to things, and makes me laugh. thanks beth!
yesterday i went to sakura's to help her make stuff for her new teaching job!!!! she's SOOOOOOOOO cute.. she bought all this cutesy teacher stuff, and is already writing lesson plans and making all this stuff for the kids. she's going to be a great teacher. she has a lot of really cool ideas... so she wanted to decorate stuff, and she got these ugly brown pencil boxes (the other kids have nice plastic ones) so she wanted me to help. cuz i like that kind of stuff.. or really she needed cheap labor and knew that she can buy me with food. but she left me this message that was like "i need some help making stuff, my scrapbook partner." hahah.. cutting out shapes, stenciling letters, decorating, all at the wee hours of the night... so many memories :P but it was fun, i'll probably go on sunday and do the pencil boxes.. i have some really good ideas :) now you think... why don't you be a teacher jean? but my theory is that i wouldn't want to do it if i had to, i do it just because it's recreational. i'm weird like that. i told sakura i'd help her grade papers and stuff.. (shhh.. don't tell my mom.)

i think it's so dumb how people hold these huge grudges.. i mean.. i've been mad at people before, but stuff over like one or two years is kind of ... interesting. i mean.. after awhile.. it just doesn't matter anymore. really. act civil, be nice, smile and fake it, it's not that hard. if you can't deal, just ignore it (in a nice way), which is i guess what happened.. so maybe i should stop complaining. but i left a comment on someone's website.. someone that i hadn't talked to in awhile, and someone that had "issues" with me, for stupid things and things that didn't concern them, i'm sure that they didn't EVEN know the WHOLE story about, and stuff that is just all in the past. my message was nice because i really just wanted to say hey.. but it got deleted! whoa.. what's up that.. you can't even say a nice hello back? wow... i didn't realize some people are just that petty. funny too is that i think i might see this person soon anyways.. so umm.. what happens then? someone's gonna get an ass kicking. just kidding. people are so stupid.
so after doing those big posts about sundance and the weekend with pete i feel like blogging is so empty. they're short and i only blog about nothingness just based on sheer boredom at work. i can't blog about what i've done when i'm blogging daily because i simply don't do anything that interesting on a day to day basis that anyone cares to read about. not like you care to read about this other crap i type, but at least it's remotely more interesting than "woke up, late to work like always, surfed the internet, ate turkey burgers for lunch, typed stuff up, went to the bathroom, went home, took a nap, watched tv, fight with mom, sleep" yup.. i am rad. anyways, here's some more out of boredom productiveness.
so i decided to re-join bmg today. (so if you want to join let me know!) i wanted some new cd's, and i just can't bring myself to buy in the stores much anymore. even though sometimes you can get them for $9.99, and yea, that's pretty cheap, but you can also get a dvd for $9.99, so shouldn't it be cheaper? maybe i'm just a penny pincher, but unless i've really wanted a cd or there was a good reason i can't really buy them for more than like $6.99, so this is my solution. (i know you're like "stupid" but anyways) i went through my sister so she cold get some free cd's for the "recruiting" it kind of sucks because they're selection big, but still kinda limited, they don't have a lot of new cd's or lesser known artists... but i did eventually find 7 cd's to get (pick 7, buy 1, pick 5 more).. so not too bad. you pay shipping and handling so i got 7 cd's this morning (yup.. shopping at work) for $20. nice. especially because i need to drastically cut down costs i just paid off one credit card bill that was a few hundred, gave my mom a check for like $800 for holiday shopping expenses and i just got a third credit card bill for like four more hundred. i need to stop with the plastic.. but it's oh so easy! no more spending lots of money, stop buying crap i don't need, and stop eating out so much, gas i think is a factor too. since when did the cost of living get so high? and i live at home! if i had to pay rent and utilities i wouldn't be able to eat. but i guess that's why i do spend so much money, because i have it. i've always been that type when i have cash in my hand i can never save it, i always gotta use it on something. awful. but i blame the holidays and the giving season... no more presents.. sorry if your birthday is coming up! jk.
i was reading ryan's blogger and he was talking about our last waffles game. he said that another team member, phil, said he felt like vomiting after our first loss and how he felt the same... and i dunno. i feel really bad. i mean.. i felt bad that we lost, especially because i think a lot of it was my fault. but i didn't feel that awful, and i guess since phil used to play baseball it's even worse for him. they're a lot more competitive than i am, and i hate losing, but i also know it's for fun. i just feel so awful that they feel that badly.. i wish i could do something.. but i guess not. i want to say that we might win the next two games, but one's a large powerhouse team that i've seen kick everyone's ass. they said they'd let us win, but it's still not the same. it kind of makes you feel stupid when people just let you win because they feel sorry for you. we don't want your pity! (so make it look like you're trying really hard. :P) and the other brooklyn pizza team (who are also huge jerks) if we brought our best out there and they made a few errors, we may win. i dunno. i do get a little angry when i feel like no one really takes it seriously (you can be serious and have fun!), or that everyone's already given up. but then again what can i do? i do really want to win on our own merit, not just for myself, but for the team morale and all. we're like the bad news bears... but we never had our comeback :(

so i was watching average joe 2: hawaii, it wasn't nearly as exciting as it was in the commercial and this second one isn't as good as the first one. they said they were going to bring another girl on the show, and i thought that meant permanently, but it was only for like one day and she was a "coach" for the nerdy guy team. the hot guy team got a hot guy coach. but they had a baywatch themed "competition" so in the beginning they had the baywatch theme song and showed all the guys and larissa in their switsuits. it was so freaking funny... i remember when angelee and i used to be rabid baywatch fans, and angelee had the theme song memorized and would sing it to me. it made me laugh so hard, ahh.. memories.
today sakura and i went to the torrance kiwanis meeting. just to check it out. the amount of people who go to the meetings each week there was relatively small, and they were pretty amusing, old people humor and all. they were really trying to get us to join (as all clubs do) but sakura starts work next week and i'm not too sure if i really want to do it. dues are super expensive, and also part of me wants to be like, no i don't want to join, you tried to sue my friends. but i do kind of miss the whole volunteering aspect. of course i can help out in other ways, but kiwanis was always a good medium (especially for lazies like me). the only thing is that kiwanis is more focused on fundraising, i mean... they have to be in order to support themselves and their sponsoring clubs, and they try to make you do all these things, join committees and go through orientation. i don't know if i want to jump through all those hoops just yet. but we'll see. i feel bad for just like ditching them so i have to keep going to meetings, but if i keep going they're just going to assume that i'm joining. eh.. we'll see i guess. sakura and i are going to this dunlap gala... we'll see what happens there too. we'll probably see some old kiwanians from san diego. that too.. the different clubs are so varying. and we got so used to la jolla kiwanis meetings and some of the other san diego clubs, it's kind of hard to transition. but they're pretty friendly. we got free lunch :) you take a slip of paper depending on what you want, today was chicken salad or chicken tacos. so i got tacos and sakura got salad, so some guy was joking around about how he thought that's what our names were. so throughout the whole meeting this guy was like.. "no that's salad and that's taco" interesting. also everyone who walked in was like "oh we have key clubbers here today?" riight. i guess if i anything we could attempt work more and bring more awareness to cki because it seems pretty universal that usually most of the kiwanians are like "what's circle k?" but yea.. do sakura and i look like we're still in high school? hhaha.. i guess that's a compliment.. right?

so yesterday i just kind of glossed over the game. well, i just focused on myself. but as my ankle swells and stiffens and i feel like rigamortis is going to set in, it's all that i think about. i'm such a selfish brat. waffles, if you're reading this (or anyone else who wants to try their luck) start practicing pitching.. just in case alright? :P anyways.. i forgot to mention what a rad cheerleader.. well maybe heckler... nicole is. cyndi and kim are also rad because they brought pom poms, which i assume were old north high (boo... jk) and once nicole got there she started saying all kinds of things. the ref highly enjoyed them. my favorite was when someone on our team hit a pop fly nicole screamed "drop it like it's hot!!!" nicole is funny. and then when i told ryan to score two runs, he retorted "i'm going to score two runs all by myself" and nicole started yelling "with your hands tied! bat with your teeth!" we need that every game :) i wish she was at the first game so she could say things to piss of the other team... hahah.. it would have been great.
ps.. the bank does have my atm card... so i'm not a complete moron.. well actually i still am, but i'm a lucky moron. :)

so i was healed from my pain in the butt class today, but as murphy's law would have it i hurt myself at the game. boo. it's all ryan's fault i tell you.. haha jk. anyhow.. today was a lazy day.. i was supposed to clean my room but i slept and just watched felicity instead. my stomach hurt some and sakura's had the stomach flu this past week, and although i haven't been around her i still was a little scared. so i opted for a pre-game nap. i had a small bowl of spaghetti before i left and halfway through the second game i was getting hungry again, that wasn't helping my concentration. but anyhow.. the first game we played the team that some people on our team dislike because they're annoying. some guy on the other team didn't like how i was pitching too close to home base so he had the ump make me pitch from the mound. i don't like pitching from the mound for very specific reasons, not because i can't throw that far. i've been hit before so the ump says he didn't want me to get hurt, but ironically enough after i threw the first pitch my foot found a small ditch and my ankle went the wrong way and i fell to the ground with a little bit of a twisted ankle and a scraped leg (boo). after then i didn't have to pitch on the mound and my next at bat i didn't have to run the bases. the ump felt bad and the other team was moted, so i guess me falling was okay. (just cuz the other team was moted, i have no ill feelings towards the ump, we like him.) anyhow.. i lost my balance during another play and fell again.. i need cleats, or just need to be less clumsy or something. i felt stupid yet again, but it's okay. but my ankle still hurts :( sadly we lost both games, but we were pretty tired during the second, so we'll say that's why. the first game we could have won but we kind of fell apart, mostly due to me because i walked a few hitters and then the rest of them ran in.. suck suck sucks. sorry guys. but thanks to lyndsay, kim and cyndi for coming to watch us!! and thanks to nicole for driving all the way to the right side of the tracks to see us lose :P you guys rock!
afterwards we all went to the elephant bar to eat a late late dinner or re-dinner for some. but it was a good time to just hang out and eat and drink :) thanks guys it was fun. even though we lose every game i'm gonna be sad when our season ends. hopefully in the summer we can play again :)

so does anyone want to know just how retarded i am? i mean.. besides the obvious. but anyways.. today i went to the bank with my dad to go deposit some checks, my dad was hassling me about how i should put all the checks in one envelope and not one at a time. but dammit, i like putting them in separately. so anyways.. he's hurrying me and after i finish putting the last check in, my dad goes "are you ready? let's go" so we walk to the car to go to the mall because i have to return some stuff. sounds simple right? no.. as i'm walking away, i fail to realize that i never finished my atm transaction, LEAVING MY ATM CARD IN THE MACHINE OPEN FOR THE WORLD TO WITHDRAW MY MONEY. right.. so i am a smart cookie. and the only reason i remembered is because i was at the cheesecake factory with vivian wondering where my atm card was because it wasn't in my wallet. yea.. i'm a big fat loser. i made vivian drive me back to the bank where there was no card (duh) but the machine was functioning. i call my bank and they tell me that there have been no transactions after my deposits, which is a good thing. and that the atm just just eats the card if there is no activity for a minute or so. so i'm praying that's what happened. but there is a block on my card so if someone does have it, they're stupid for not using it earlier. :P just kidding.. i shouldn't joke about this. but ugh.. i felt SO dumb tonight. who forgets crap like that and just walks away from an atm mid-transaction? no one.. just me. i need to lay off the drugs, killing too many braincells. i used to be smart way back when.
anyhow.. tonight i thought it was kind of interesting that clay aiken was on snl, and ruben studdard was on mad tv. like how kelly clarkson and clay aiken are going on tour together.. what about ruben? it's actually kind of sad, because ruben's the "idol" and clay aiken is just the runner up. which is cool because he's talented too, but you don't see justin guarini hanging around anywhere. and i bet if ruben hadn't have won he wouldn't have all the perks and contracts and junk. i just think that sucks that's all. materialistic america. (cuz i should talk right? i peddle $50 jeans and $30 shirts to people that probably cost $5 to make).
here's hoping to my atm card being safe. and to us playing really well in our games tomorrow. we had a four man practice today (such team dedication :P). i mean.. i know it's just supposed to be for fun and everything, but i wish that it wasn't such a joke. like i don't like wasting my time to organize practices if no one shows up. i mean.. i need it, but i guess i'm just frustrated with losing ALL the time. so here's hoping we win at least one if not both of our games. (come watch us!) i'm pretty sore though after that "pain in the butt" class i went to on friday :P i hope i'm healed tomorrow.

can i just tell you how right manny was when he said that sharkeez sucks ass. and i'll probably go there again sometime... maybe... so don't think i'm a dumbass or a hypocrite when i do.. but i honestly just wasted 3 hours of my life, 2 of it was waiting in line at sharkeez.
i dislike the parking in hermosa almost as much as westwood, but not quite. but it's still pretty bad. first i let some a-hole take this really good spot. i guess i can't get good parking karma all the time. but boo on him for not letting a girl have the spot :P and double boo on me for freaking stopping to let his car go first. i'm stupid. then i finally get to sharkeez and wait in line, and vivian calls me out of line, like a dumbass, i go. thinking she'd show of her breasts to get me in, but the not nice guy of a bouncer (the same one that manny hates) wouldn't let me in, which was cool, but vivian decided to wait in line with me. she turns around and walks smack into the heat lamp, so as she's leaving the bouncer says he won't let her back in because she's too drunk, she could wait in line and maybe he'd let her back in if she had sobered up. great. so we go back to the end of the line and wait, while vivian drunk dials a million people, gets in this fight with a random guy who wanted to stand in line with us, goes to talk to her friends already in the club, attempt to make conversations with people in front and back of us, make some more phone calls.. blah blah blah. i wait in line while watching the bouncer let in groups of girls behind me and groups of people just walking up to the door. and yea you could argue that they were hot girls or something.. but nooooo .. there were tall girls, short girls, groups of guys, a girl on crutches, a girl that i'm pretty sure was a man, pretty girls and ugly girls. apparently i don't fit into any of those freaking categories. i'm cool with waiting and all, but i watched SO many people go in, it was ridiculous. and it wasn't even the people in front of me... the line was getting shorter behind me, but not in front of me.. if that makes any sense to you. it was so aggravating. finally when we were the second group in line i just decided i could not handle it anymore. i realized that i wasn't in the socializing mood anymore anyways, so i pleaded with the bouncer to just let vivian back in so i could go the heck home where i should have freaking stayed in the first place. he said he'd come get us in a second, and like a minute later he did, so that wasn't too bad. i said thanks, for what i don't know, but just to be nice i guess. hoping next maybe it'd help (although i doubt it). i went inside, danced for a little bit, but i was playing the fifth wheel and that's a position i never really desire to be in. i hate doing a lot of things by myself and dancing in crowded clubs is one of them. especially when i was already pissed off. i found vivian talking to a group of guys (the ones she was hanging out with before i came... i think) and told her i was leaving, and although she said she was going to come right back, or she was just going to use the bathroom.. i was just not in the party time mood. i walked the many blocks back to my car and called nicole to yell, cuss and vent. so now nicole will never pick up the phone again when i call her past 1am. but nonetheless thanks nicole. sorry to vivian for "ruining" your night and a big fat no thanks to sharkeez for being so craptacular.
that's another 3 hours of my life i'll never get back.

so i'm pretty excited right now.. well.. not excited, but really .... energized? optimistic? i don't know. i mean.. i know i can't get my hopes up, and i don't want to say anything because i don't want to jinx myself.. but i just had a really really good conversation that made me excited and happy. thanks.
hmm.. let's see.. what happened after sundance. we played in our softball game, that was both our best and our worst. we should have won because the other team sucked, but we sucked at first as well. we were great the rest of the game but after all the runs we let through in the first inning it was too late. boo. but it's okay.. we're playing them again this sunday.. we're going to beat their asses! (i hope). afterwards we had a "whoo hoo" dinner at the elephant bar .. more just like we're hungry.. but whatever. they have the best creme brulee that i've had so far. yum yum yum.
last week was kind of chill (wow i can't believe this week has passed by so fast already). i just hung out and cleaned some, and i had an interview on tuesday. i think they're still calling references, so we'll see. i hung out with beth some, we were supposed to go to the gym, but we just sat in my room and talked and watched tv. oops. i did some editing at my sisters and treated her to yummy thai food, but mostly... i tried to play the week low key in anticipation of my oh-so-exciting weekend :)
weeks of anticipation = 12
round of shots at union cattle = $27
dinner at the stinking rose = $30
drinks at gotham hall = $101
finally hanging out with pete holiday
AND watching nicole make out with a boy = PRICELESS
as nicole claimed it was "adopt a white boy weekend" aka PETE HOLIDAY comes to town. yes kids, it's true, he actually exists outside of our computers. we got to experience the wonder that is PETE HOLIDAY (self proclaimed "hottest" past international vice president.. heheheh) in the flesh. that's right, PETE HOLIDAY comes to california, what a *good times* weekend. unfortunately i didn't get to spend every waking moment he was here with him (well maybe fortunately for him), i had to work and clean for family house guests coming.. but i did get to spend a good amount of time hanging out, sober and drunk, watching jilll boss him around or have him hold her purse, or trying to defend how "black" he is. yea.. sure.
anyhoo.. the fun starts thursday night.. after dinner i leave to go meet up with them. after one hour of driving around and lots of mis-communication i find pete, jill, manny, carrie and irene at a boba place on sawtelle. afterwards we head over to jerry's famous deli in westwood (where jill and i exclaimed how much we hate parking in westwood) and i get to share chili cheese steak fries with pete (oh.. all my dreams). they laughed about the campus shoe repair that was missing an s.. (hoe!) and other stuff that i forget now (damn that short term memory) but jill and i ended up cutting out early because of work. but mostly because i wanted to get home before my parents got all pissy so i could go out later in the week (yea i know... be quiet).
friday night jill and i met up with manny, carrie and pete at everyone's favorite place - the union cattle co. in hermosa beach.
i wasn't woman enough to ride the mechanical bull, but jill was all over it. BUT we did get super good parking :) i made a new best friend, i had just driven by this spot that this guy was pulling out of and i didn't have time to back up, so i put on my blinker hoping i could still get it.. but i saw this other car driving down the hill EYEING my parking spot.. i could feel it. but the suuuuper awesome person in the car pulled out real fast to block the car zooming down the hill, flashed his brights to let me know to take the place and took off after i was safely in the greatest parking spot (to make up for the parking spot in BFE i got from the night before). yea.. that person rocks.. thank you! anyhow, pete and carrie were already throwing drinks down the hatch when we walked in, so manny, jill, and i had to catch up.
we got a round of drinks, and then i took another round of shots with pete and manny. i was DD for the night so that was the end of my fun :P (just kidding.. i'm not a lush, i don't need alcohol to have fun :P) anyhow. jill, carrie, pete and manny kept drinking throughout the night and after they sobered up they went off to the after party at irene's and me and jill called it a night.
saturday i cleaned most of the day (while watching felicity :P) and then spent some time returning stuff at the mall with my sissy-poo. unfortunately i also did some shopping and bought three necklaces (buy 2 get one free) that were more than my last paycheck from the gap. that's the way to save up :P. i hurried home and got ready and sakura picked me up for last night-o-fun with mr. holiday. (sniff sniff). so sakura, jill, sukhyung, carol and i got ready to head over to miyagi's until we got the last minute game plan change from quarterback cercado. we veered on over to the stinking rose instead so pete, carrie and manny could have some time to recover from the night before.
it was all good, carol and i shared this really good steak that sukhyung ultimately polished off (along with pete's, carrie's and vivian's plates). the only part that sucked it was got charged for these 2 plates of bagna calda (which is just sauteed garlic) to put on the bread that the waiter asked if we wanted and i just said yea sure, but no one really ate a whole lot of it. i thought it was free. sorry guys. so when you go to the stinking rose, say no to the bagna calda, those words will forever haunt me.
anyhoo.. afterwards we headed off to gotham hall on 3rd street in santa monica and met up with the deliciously cute april and nicole. we all got inside and started the drinking. three rounds of shots off the bat. vivian started chatting it up with some marine guys with marine friends and april, nicole, jill and i got roped into helping take over the drinks to their table. hmmm... there was some chatting and then we somehow found our ways to the dance floor, they were playing old school music (which nicole THOROUGHLY enjoyed :P) and somewhere along the way carol and i decided we weren't drunk enough and decided to get another drink. one turned into two or three (i can't really remember after this point). i do remember the marines buying vivian shot that she didn't want to finish cuz she was driving and i downed that too, and then the hurricane and the adios motherf*cker that did me in. and i did bankroll the mai-tai that did nicole in. after that i couldn't really see straight. "the spin was rooming" i DO remember dancing and wondering where nicole was, so someone points in some direction and i turn around and see her dancing with a boy. a while later i turn around and see their heads locked together! 3 shots and a mai-tai boys... heeeeey baby. if you want the gory details/drunken recall you can find it here or the weekend's recap in pictures here. aiya. anyhow.. i couldn't really see straight and the rest of the night was a blur.
i remember finally walking over to nicole after her sexcapade and we just both started cracking up and could not stop. nicole screaming something like "cosmic connection!" as i fell on the floor. i remember saying goodbye to pete (but i don't remember his face, just his voice. he was kind of one of those shadowed out blobs when someone's being interviewed but doesn't want anyone to know how he is :P) but i do recall him saying that "i'll come back" hehe.. so either it's an indication of where he's coming to law school or he really likes us :) here's hoping to both? or at least the latter. i'm sad that i didn't get to have breakfast the next morning with him (although sleeping off the hangover was real good too). i guess he's just so damn popular that everyone wants a piece of him. it kind of sucks i didn't get to spend a lot of real quality alone time with him (so that i could take advantage of him), but just mostly group settings (now i know how those guys on the bachelorette feel. :P) i'll have to take a number and get in line again, i had my thirty seconds. but thanks for finally coming out pete! i had fun, i hope you did too!
sunday our softball game was postponed for the superbowl, which i missed because i spent this whole day cleaning as well. too bad i missed spectitular half-time show. but the pictures are all over the place so i guess i didn't "really" miss out. our family friend guests for the week came and my mom insisted on going out to grand china buffet to eat. god that place is so awful. plus they play this really fobby happy birthday song over the loud speakers for each person's birthday. i heard that song like 5 times. can't they just gather every bday person into the middle of the buffet and then play the song? but that place is awful so why go there anyways. blech.
this week has been passing by kind of fast, just work and entertaining house guests. went to a pretty dissapointing dinner at claim jumpers.. boo. no chocolate cake either :P hope next time is better.. i'm gonna get the "i declair" eclair that's bigger than my head for my meal. :) yesterday i met up with nicole at downtown disney for a late dinner. beth and sakura couldn't play so it was just a private date for two. we ate food served by our not too shabby waiter who was probably flirting for larger tips. but in any case i should have left nicole's number or something. we were on our way to haagen daas to get ice cream when we decided to check out what big shindig was going on at the house of blues. we find out that it's the "employee talent show" what?!! yea exactly. i ask the security if we can check it out and he radios someone else and gives us wristbands.. aww yea. we watch "the sexy apes" play, which was girl rock band with one guy. i was kind of excited from the name but it was a little bit of a let down. well, they were alright.. just not my cup of tea. nicole did like the lyrics to one of their songs... ask her about it :) drove home and passed out. today was work and dinner from costco and friends (yes.. exciting i know).
that is what i have been up to, sorry for the uber long posts.. i swear they're be normal size now (long but not quite this long) and i'll get back to the play by play of what i eat for those of you who love that. :P i've been getting pretty apathetic about work, so i'm so thankful that it's friday. aww yea. we have a doubleheader in softball this weekend, wish us luck. or better yet!! come out and watch us play!! it'll be rad to have a cheering section for our doubleheader and hopefully we'll go out for a celebration afterwards :) see ya there! bring your pom-poms!
