okay.. so I'm a little frustrated, I wrote out this whole long thing, and then I pushed a wrong button, and then it disappeared. auggh! sucky!
So anyways.. it's been awhile since I've been here, mostly because I've been out of town, and unable to feed my addiction to the ethernet. haha. So yeah. here's a little synopsis of my past few weeks... careful.. it might be awhile.
Anyways.. I left for Buffalo on Tuesday night on a red eye flight, where I had the worst seat ever. Between two large guys, and up agaisnt the wall so I could really recline my seat back. I got like no sleep, and the movie was bad.. so I just kind of sat there. Got to the Buffalo airport where I was oh so relieved to find Katie from NY waiting for me at the gate. yay.. Got my bag, and went to the Days Inn Hotel (home of a bowling alley and the "hottest teen club") in Hamburg, NY - the Visalia of New York - Anyways.. started meeting the LSSP people. Went to the airport with the NY governor to pick up Jason and Charles, two of the funniest guys I've ever met. Back to the hotel, but also stopping by Univ of Buffalo, which is pretty nice. Back to the hotel, off to the mall, and then back to freak out about my board report, and bowl. :)
The next day I woke up with 15 minutes, showered, ran down and ate breakfast with the disgruntled lady waitress who wouldn't let us have extra plates, and harassed Ryan about how he was sitting. Rode the yellow school bus *with seat belts! to the camp. Worked worked worked.. Justin and Jennilynn from WUM, and Ryan and I piled up stray branches along the trail. Ate lunch with the kids who are way loud and rowdy. *MEAT IS GOOD!* And then back to working. Ate authentic Cajun Jambalaya and the I-Board came by. Chatted it up with Jason, Charles, Chartha and Jen Lewis. Rode the bus back, attempted to watch a movie, but just ended up making cards for the kids, and other random thank you cards. I did get to go to 24 hour Walmart, which was fun. The store was kinda shady and unkept, kinda like Pic'N'Save, but I bet the ones in California are better.. just because everything always is. haha. Next morning rode the bus, we all took tons of pictures in our LSSP shirts, worked worked worked. I got to chip wood and make new trails. That was fun. Being destructive and all. Ate lunch with the kids, worked, ate spaghetti for dinner, passed our cards to the kids, rode the bus home. That night everyone just kind of chilled, got ready for the next day. Ryan, Christi and I went to this "hot teen club" and dance by ourselves in this big room, but mostly played DDR to satisfy Ryan. Then hung out with my roomies, and Ryan, Tracy, Christi and Van. Ryan crashed on the floor to avoid the drama in his room, only to ensue more drama... I'm now a "homewrecker" :P
The next day some people left early, but us "leftovers" hung out, ate Wendy's for lunch, and then rode the bus over to the Convention. Ran through the masses of people to register, check-in, get delegate stuff, etc etc etc. I found Shannon and also Jeremy from Kansas. We hung out until opening session with our borrowed District cheer. Listened to people welcome us. And the "*NSYNC look alike motivational speaker who was kickin' it old school" who was pretty amusing. That night I helped Nick a little bit with his campaign stuff, and then just kind of stayed up and chatted with people, allll night. oops.
Then we went to the officer roundtables, and then to the Millenium Plan 2 workshop. After both Shannon feeling sick, and me shaking uncontrollably, we both went back and took naps. I slept through the part where I was supposed to help Nick, but I did make it to the general caucus session right on time. Good for me. District discussion, Governor's Gala dinner (where they served actual beef instead of chicken... much to our shock), congrats to Carrie who won disting. treas., divisional meeting, and then the dance- where I missed the dedication of California girls, as well as the dessert reception. :P Then went with Kathy, Beth, Ryan and Nicole to the LaMissTenn "party" and just sat and chatted with Mary. Then went back and chatted some more, but did go to sleep much earlier than the night before.. haha.
Next morning was the house of delegates.. not too bad, but wasn't too great either. eh.. then.. it was off to NIAGARA FALLS! We went on the Maid of the Mist boat ride where you get on the boat and ride very near the falls, they give you this poncho, but you still get completely soaked. Pic was my "little brother" and got in for the kids price. Then we crossed the border, took lots of pictures, went to the Hershey's store, and then to the casino!! haha.. I won a whole $3.50 ($8 canadian dollars) in five minutes. It was fun. And remember that episode of Friends where they're in Vegas, and Phoebe gets stalked by that old lady. SO happened to me. This lady hovered over me for my slot machine.. it was so annoying.. what a jerk. Then crossed back the border, only to run back to find Kathy because we though we had her wallet, only to find out that she already had it. oh well. Got back to the hotel by bus once again, and on to caucus. I always feel stupid, like no one cares, and that my questions are really dumb, and that I never sound as articulate as everyone else. *sigh. Anyways.. played UNO that night like I've never played it before. It was way fun and hilarious. It was a good time.
Last day of Convention.. sad! Morning session with a crummy breakfast..bagel and juice.. no danish or fruit of anything. :P and club awards.. none of those for us either.. sucks.. next year.. next year. then Divisional meeting, Service Fair.. which was fun.. we got to see what all the other districts were up to. Lunch at the restaurant hotel which we just ended up taking to go because they took too long. House of Delegates, which was excrutiatinly long. They gave us one break where Nicole, Beth and I sat there and released all our energy. We just talked about random stuff, "they should call her ___ No-Chance!" "wouldn't the house of delegates be better if they were allowed to cuss?" "you can cut off my fingers if I can have the last three hours of my life back! i wish i could just tear off this ribbon", I laughed so hard I was crying and I couldn't breath. It was great.. of course, everyone else thought we were insane. Didn't have to go to house III, and then went out to eat with some folks at a little restaurant nearby. It was pretty good. Closing Session.. sad... And then the Dance. This time I was there for California Girls. They had appetizers there.. I must have had like 10 Buffalo.. oh excuse me.. Chicken Wings. And then that night hung out a little in LaMissTenn people, and Cal-Nev-Ha people.. played UNO again. But everyone was pretty tired. But Anna wanted to stay up because she was leaving pretty early, so we went and found Mary, and hung out with her all night again, and then found Shannon and Jeremy. Shannon and I went to bed at 6am. Slept until 9am. Packed, cleaned up, ate breakfast in the hotel, and said our goodbyes.. *sad sad sad, and then I rode the $23 taxi to the airport. I hate taxis.. Flew out on a connecting flight to Baltimore again. This time I had an aisle seat.. :) and Michael from TO was on my flight, so I chatted with him. He's a pretty funny guy. It always seems you can chat with any KFamily person about random stuff when your bored cuz you have that one thing in common, which is nice. Got home, fought with dad, drove Kathy to Nicole's, stayed the night at Nicole's (haha I ran away from home), and fell asleep during Sex in the City, until the next morning. Ryan came over, drove to Torrance, ate at the Loft, picked up my paycheck, chilled, went to 7-11, and then they left. I packed, and then left for Taiwan. CRAZYNESS!
On the plane.. sat with Joan in Deluxe Class.. ooh. I felt way pampered. Ate airplane food, watched Shrek, (nice huh), and half of Heartbreakers. Slept some, listened to my cd player. Endured the 15 hour flight. Got to the airport, waited around for the shuttle to leave. Drove to Dou Lieu, where my Grandpa lives. Got there, went to this so so Chinese Vegetarian restaurant for his 89th bday celebration, a whole big family reunion sort of thing. Came back, chilled, and apparently I fell asleep because I don't remember much of that night. I remember being woken up and asked if I wanted to go with my mom, dad, aunt and sister to the night market saying that they were all going, and I remember them acting like they were going out partying or clubbing or something, or that's what it seemed like in my half asleep state.
The next day, which was Monday (I lost a day in the time change), we went to the marketplace and shopped. True to myself, I bought many many bags. And we ate shaved ice for $30 NT which is like $1. Yum! Played some Sims on Joan's computer, and watched Love and Basketball on Joan's computer, which is actually a really cute movie. The next day i woke up early to go with daddy to go visit his great-grandfather's grave, even though I HATE cemetaries, I agreed to go anyways. We tookt he train to JiaYi. And then walked around, I bought some *NSYNC stuff.. the first of many.. hahahah.. and drank Boba.. yum! And finally found a flower shop, bought flowers, took a taxi to the place where daddy thought there was the graves, but it wasn't! We didn't know where to go, so we just returned to back to flower shop, gave the flowers to them, and went back home.. blah.. it was just amusing that we just kind of wasted that whole day.. but it wasn't too much of a waste. My days are kind of blurry as to which day what happened.. but we went to this one temple at mommy's request. It was okay... nothing too special. The view was great, it was on top of a mountain. The highlight of my day was when I saw my mom's picture in one of the display pieces they had about temples in the US. haha.. millions of people in Taiwan look at my mom and her temple friends each day. hahah. We also went to the market place again, ate noodles, bought shoes.. yay, and ate shaved ice.. and split up.. daddy and I, and mommy and Joan. As daddy and I were going home, it started to POUR!! So we watched the rain, and the lightning and thunder for a looong time. My dad was convinced if we stood there long enough it would stop. wrong! this guy offered to drive us for $100 NT but we said no thanks, and started walking... but my dad started shrieking like a girl, and wanted to go back, so we took refuge under this little shack. I was laughing so hard, and my dad was just looking at me funny. Finally we just decided to go again, and started running. Then this very nice lady offered to give us a ride. Remind to me to do that for someone else someday. Then we took the train to Taipei, got picke up my Pearl Auntie's brother and his friend, and after much driving, found our little condo where we were staying. Then went to the Shihling market that night. Bought a few things, ate lots of stuff, and then came back. I'm now an expert on how to ride the Taiwan mass rapid transit system. It's a lot like Boston. Fun stuff. Next day went to a vegetarian restaurant with Pearl Auntie's family. And then to Warner Village where I saw this model search going on, and saw this chinese popstar that Joan said was worse than Britney. She hated her. hahah.. Then we went to the six floor mall and bought these handy sealer thingys. It was like a live infomercial demonstration thing. We got sucked in and bought NINE of them. haah.. Then went to go visit my dad's grandma (my great-grandmother) who's 99 years old! amazing, and then went and ate this great Japanese place with my great-uncle, and my dad's first younger brother. Then we also went to ShihMen market place.. which has a PiyoPiyo store!! And Joan and I after much much arguing were able to split up from the parents, and we shopped, I bought more *NSYNC much to my excitement, and ate McDonald's where their aple pie is fried! not baked.. yum. Then ate Korean bbq with my uncle, two aunts, mom, and sister, where we were late joined by my dad, uncle, and cousin. Went back.. chiled.. I watched my fabulous *nsync vcd's.. they're great. And started to watch Jurassic Park III on dvd. My uncle bought that and other illegal movies in China...hahahahah. The next day we just chilled, mommy had to pack because she was going back to Dou Lieu to be with her dad, and so we ate a quick lunch with beef noodle soup where they made fresh noodles. It was pretty good. Sent mom to the airport, and ate dinner near my grandmother's house with my aunt and uncle at this place that Joan loves. Bought some way cute stationary stuff, and went home. Wrote out my postcards, and the next day just chilled. Went out to lunch with my uncle at this really nice hotel, the Formosa Regent at this all you can eat buffet which had good food and haagen daas ice cream and tiramisu! yum!! Then went back, packed some more, watched more illegal movies, and then went to the airport, chilled before our flight and then flew another 15 hours in pampering deluxe class. Watched Someone Like You, The Mexican, Josie and the Pussycats, the end of Along Came a Spider, and the end of Monkeybone. All very interesting. haha.. got back.. shoved our 5 huge luggages in this one taxi, with a driver who had bad bad english, and didn't really know where he was going. And finally came home. *sigh. it's sad.. I was in Taiwan soo long where it's SUPER hot and humid, that this morning when I woke up I was cold!!
Yikes.. anyways.. today was errand day. But I did get to eat at El Torasco which is soooooooo yummy. Walked along the beach, took Eric to school, went to the GAP to get my paycheck, went to the bank, and the RETARDED travel agency, picked up eric from school, autozone to buy new winshield wipers, wells fargo for Eric and his mom, with the crazy crazy bank lady, and then to costco. Where I paid all that money to get the 1 hour developing, and I left them in the car so now I can't even look at them right now. *sigh. Watched some tv.. I was all excited about watching Big Brother, and this week they had the special episode that aired yesterday. Bites. pssht. Anyways.. I have to pack and junk.. leaving for Hawaii on Saturday.. *crazy. I feel like I have no time to breathe. Oh well it's going to be a good time right? I hope so. Anyways.. it's way late.. and I should probably get to bed before my dad wakes up and yells at me for staying up all night. *blah*
