i do have these pictures. i made these little mini pizza things for this guy's birthday at my work. i was freaking out a little about what to use as the crust.. but in the end i used the pilsbury grands biscuits and just split them apart and they working really well and were pretty tasty. they have mushrooms and pepperoni which was awesome, and i was going to take a picture of them baked.. but i didn't have enough time. plus some of the stuff (cheese) slid off or something and i didn't have time to fix that either, so maybe it's for the better.

memorial day weekend was fun. the friday before it was almost like a ghosttown @ work. a lot of people were gone, and the people who were here.. well.. i basically had more visitors that day, and i watched the desperate housewives/lost dvd that got sent with our hollywood reporters... so.. it was a chill day. i actually got to go home at like 3 or 4, which was really nice :) i hung out with a co-worker, then dinner @ home and bowling with linh/tony & co. :P saturday was beth & ryan's bbq. beth is an awesome bbq'er. there was a good amount of people there, and benji was in town! so it was cool to see him :) there was a ton of food, and ice cream cake, and then we all played karaoke revolution. boy do i suck at that game :P at one point ji (benji's new gf :)) was singing this really hard song and the crowd in the video game walked out of the club, and the virtual ji singer sank to her knees in shame. that was the funniest thing i had seen all night. video games are so cruel now!! but i was laughing really hard... but if it had happened to me.. i probably would never ever sing again. but that game is hard.. and ji is an excellent singer.. so.. it's not really and accurate judge.

sunday night i watched saving face with my family. it's a pretty good movie - funny because it's about this chinese over acheiving daughter who has to appease her mother who moves in with her because she is pregnant with no father, and she is also trying to balance her relationship with her girlfriend (yes.. girlfriend) but of course her super chinese mother doesn't know she's a lesbian. hahaha. it's funny because there are so many "chinese" things in there, and although annoying uci girls are babbling about how that's "so them" .. it's a little true too. it's a really good movie about love and family and ambition as well... plus there's a nekkid girl (top halves) on girl scene for those not interested in the plot. hah. it was a little awkward sitting next to my mom.. but oh well :P on the way home:

me: "would you be mad if i was a lesbian"
mom: "well if that's your nature"
me: "really?"
mom: "you're mom is pretty okay huh?"

hahaha.. both me and my sister say she only says that because she knows that it's not true... (i have a giant josh duhamel poster on my door.. but i guess it could just be a trick :P) but last week when i was going out and sakura picked me up, my mom commented about how i'm always going out with my girl friends and that i need to bring a boy home sometime. hah. hah. hah. hah. ha. ha. ha. and then made some comment about how it should be a chinese boy, but if not a good american one. heh. heh. heh. oh my.

memorial day - had lunch @ todai with the fam and fam friends, did a little bit (or too much) shopping, and then it was off to disneyland.. YAAAAY, with car-son, jim-kura and nicole. hahha. (carson has already been established... jimkura i just made up right now.. i'm sure they will both tell me i'm stupid). we rode a few rides, watched some fireworks and i went to find some pennies. it was awesome.

the following week was blah.. whatever.. glad it was 4 days long although as always it seems like 10. the weekend i cleaned .. which is good cuz it builds up the good child karma and makes my mom stop nagging me for oh.. about 4 days it lasted :P i did try the omelette parlor by my work that i had heard beth talk about and it's pretty yummy. i didn't have an omelette because i wasn't in the mood for eggs, so we'll have to go back and try that.

working a lot, on two diff jobs (well technically 3 since i am still going to gap meetings.).. wednesday met up with carlene and sonny who "kidnapped" nicole and saved her from her "i'm old and alone" birthday plans and we had presents, nachos and ice cream cake! YES. :) it was an excellent time... read nicole's recap (plus pictures!) here. friday we all went out again to meet up for nicole's bday. dinner, drinks, dancing and just good old regular fun. listened to sakura tell her stories, beth and ryan analyze sakura's facial expressions, trying to shove drinks down nicole's throat and some other good times. pictures to come soon.

i skipped out on the graduation madness... (sorry kathy, norma, luz!!) and did baby shower errands and planning (finishing touches.. have been planning for awhile). yea!! my sister is preggers! i'm going to be an aunt. whoooa. it's kind of creepy but kind of cool at the same time. i mean.. not creepy.. but scary? like.. man.. i'm going to be an aunt! yikes. she isn't due for awhile but we had the baby shower early because she's going to be in taiwan until after it's born... so.. booo...... that makes me sad.. but i know it's for the best. but it still kind of sucks. but i will be visiting.. so that makes it kind of cool. my mom wanted me to go before june (when i went last year) so that i could have platinum status or whatever the high up one for eva airways is.. but that really wasn't going to happen.. so oh well. but this week was busy busy with the shower planning.. but i think it turned out really well, people enjoyed it, it was very nice and now it's over :P which is kind of sad too... but now i can take a little bit of a breather. not too much because i still have two projects i need to have been started and halfway done already. oops. but yea.. we played two games, opened presents and ate. we used the caterer from my work Johnny Pacific who is soooooo good :) we had gruyere stuffed mushrooms, empanadas (4 flavors) and chicken satay. YUM. we baked cupcakes and cookies and had strawberry pie. had cheese, hummus and basically.. a TON of food. plus the guys came afterwards and did the bbq and had a plethora of bacon wrapped entities. i had to leave the bbq portion early because i had to get to our softball game, but i was pretty exhausted anyways, so it was almost a welcome excuse. not that i didn't enjoy it all.. but being a master party planner is a lot of hard work!

softball was.... okay. :P good because we played and didn't get totally slaughtered. bad because we gave up a 6 run lead and ended up losing. good because it was to the first place team. bad because we still lost after being up the whole time. bad because i got the last out in our last at bat, and didn't catch the huge fly ball to the outfield so they scored the winning run, okay because i did some other not too horrible things during the game which may or may not have redeemed myself... depending on who you ask is all. i don't know why i was so upset, because it is just a game. we won our previous game.. and it was so exciting to win, and this week is was so close, and then it just ... was such a let down i guess. hopefully we can do a lot better as the season progresses and it would be cool if we got a 50% ratio.. but that would require to have us win almost all of our remaining games.. and if people show up.. that might happen, but that's what i get for knowing people with lives :P i hope to win at least a few more games.. and then we'll see what happens from there. we'll just have to start with the next one... i don't think i wrote about us winning... but we did in the game the previous week... beth had this recap.....

"Our new softball team, led by Jeanie, recorded a real win on Sunday. It was very exciting. By "real" I mean that our normal pitcher (Jean) pitched and we had our normal players – more or less. Actually mostly less since Ryan was disabled and Maritza got hit in the nose and had to sit out pretty early on. It was neither a forfeit or a cheat, although the win will likely be contested by a very butch-looking girl from the other team who had issue with the number of male players we had. We followed the rules, but she pretty much threw a fit and from then of the other team had a very unsportsmanlike attitude.

The turning point came in the third inning, when Jean pulled an amazing play by stopping a line drive right at the mound. It was crazy! Then in the following inning Jean's friend Jake got a double play and pretty much sealed the deal. But the best part was that Jean ended the game by striking out the last girl. I hope that Jean does not take it the wrong way when I say that I never thought in a million years we would ever end a game with a winning strikeout, especially not if we were the away team, and especially not against as obnoxious a team as the Dough Boys. I think that under the circumstances, the stress and excitement of possibly finally winning and knowing the team is relying on you to hold the score down would overcome anyone. Jean gets flustered over much less, if you know what I mean. But she pulled it off! So way to stand fast under extreme pressure, Jean! And way to be a trooper, Maritza! Go Menacers!"

i'm not necessarily offended, but i know how beth means it and what she's trying to say.. so thanks... i guess :P

yay.. work is almost done for the day. i have to clean my room and make it more of a productive space so i can get my shit done. that's going to be hard. my sister is leaving this week.. that will suck too. boo. i am trying to get a reprieve from hockey.. i'm not quit ready to quit yet, and i know they are short handed.. so i'm not too sure what exactly to do. i know i should just give up the extranneous stuff that isn't important.. but i like to do it.. and i was never very good at giving up what i wanted to.. so i just have to deal. issues, i tell you, issues.
