i stole this poem from a friend of a friend... i haven't ever heard it before, but i bet it's one that everyone already knows about. i'm always missing the boat. apparently it's been attributed to mother teresa. i like it a lot, and it makes me feel better about how i've been feeling lately.. so i'll share it with you :)

People are often unreasonable, illogical,
and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, People may accuse you
of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some
false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone
could destroy overnight.
